I have played the lift many times, and it never gets old. The lift is the perfect introduction into the style and atmosphere of Hotel Orpheus. I really am floored by how well the design and mechanics of Hotel Orpheus is. Right from the beginning, when you go through the door and are greeted by the spectral concierge, you know that you have entered a haunted atmospheric domain. The titular hotel contains many levels, with different time zones in each. The lift is a short game that is the prelude to Room 1309. As you after the elevator, it starts to ascend normally, till it ominously speeds up, and then crashes. The cleaning maid turns demonic and jumpscares you, and then you experience a blackout. As you regain consciousness, it is your task to escape from the stuck elevator. The cleaning maids cart contains all the clues and items I needed to escape. The cart was well thought out and detailed, with just one elevator giving a fully engaging and hair raising experience of putting the pieces together to exit the lift. And once you do, it naturally segue-ways to Room 1309. The perfect entry game for all lovers of high- quality mystery horror games!

This game is not only creative and fun to play, but makes you think as well! The cleaver puzzles are fun and challenging, but not too difficult, while keeping your mind sharp and wanting more. And if you get stuck, or need a clue, a cheat sheet is provided so you don’t have to leave the game to search for the next steps nor having to watch a walk through video. If you do, however, solve them without help, you will be smiling ear to ear with a feeling of great accomplishment! It’s such a brilliant and amazing game - I cant wait to download and play the full version to see what’s next!!!

This is my absolute favorite type of game and the graphics are awesome! Spoilers: The beginning in the elevator is pretty frightening especially with headphones. Gotta wear headphones! I liked this game a lot but it was tough! I had to use hints often. What I didn’t like was how things appear in places as you go that weren’t there before like the note in the garbage. Also, it bothered me that you could see the note with the glasses even before you opened the circuit box or whatever it is. I’m pretty sure that was a glitch. All in all though it’s a good game. I just hope the paid game is a little better. At $1.99 I am definitely going to get it! Please make more games like this! They are surprisingly hard to find!

A really good little game!! Good puzzles, good graphics, a fun, spooky atmosphere, and an in-game hint system which is something I always appreciate, and I needed it once or twice. I loved both this game and this dev’s other game, Room 1309. Looking forward to more from them!! It’s always great to see a new dev with something really original and well done. More please!
