The 2026 aurora season has been spectacular, and we’re committed to helping you make the most of it before things start to slow down. In this update, we’ve introduced several key improvements: • Profile redesign: A completely refreshed profile page with a cleaner layout and more intuitive navigation. • Updated moments feed: New Recent and Explore tabs in the Moments section make it easy to switch between the latest community sightings and the global gallery. In case you missed our previous release, these features were added in the last update: • Expanded “Aurora Spotted” Alerts: Now covering sightings in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Poland, Austria, and Switzerland. • Aurora Passport (Pro): Log your sightings and document your personal journey under the lights. • Precision Alerts (Pro): Smarter and more control of your notification. The end of the Northern Lights season is approaching, but we’re celebrating with a major update featuring your most-requested features! It has been an incredible year so far—14,000 auroras have been spotted by our community since January. After the success of the Aurora Passport, we’ve turned our focus to advanced notifications for Pro users. You now have control over how and when you’re alerted: - Distance-Based Alerts: Configure alerts by kilometer range. For example, set the app to only notify you when an aurora is spotted within 30 km of your location. - Choose to get notification only from aurora spotted reports with photos / Moments. - Intensity Filters: Choose the level of activity that triggers an alert. You can now filter sightings by Weak, Medium, or Intense to ensure you only head out for the brightest lights. - Substorm Strength: On very active nights, notifications can get chaotic. You can now choose to receive substorm alerts only when they reach a specific intensity. - Bz Value Triggers: The Bz value is a crucial indicator for aurora hunting. You can now set a custom threshold to be notified the moment the Bz value drops, ensuring you never miss the start of the dance. Big update is here!
 We’ve been working behind the scenes to make the app smoother, faster, and nicer for you to hunt the Northern Lights. Here’s what’s new: - Charts are clearer and more accurate: Numbers now line up perfectly and everything loads faster. - A better widget on iPhone: It now matches the location you set in the app. - Cleaner design: More consistent spacing, nicer rounded corners, and smoother animations everywhere. - Helpful warnings + messages: If there’s no internet or the server is down, the app will now clearly let you know. - Fun new like animation on the aurora moment: Tapping to like aurora photos feels even more delightful! - German language is now supported and in beta. - Added flag to the Moment so you know from which country the aurora was shared from - Improved onboarding & maps: Sign-up is easier, and we’ve removed some map layers to make things simpler and clearer. and last but not least, we did lots of improvements under the hood. You may not see all of them, but you’ll definitely feel the difference, everything should just work better and enhance your aurora hunting experience even more! Hi there! It's a happy day. The long standing issue leaving you stuck in the onboarding screens has been defeated! That was such a weird issue, and I still don't explain it. But you know what, as long as it works, everyone's happy! Also improved the community screen, some moments were duplicated when re-loading the screen. That wasn't great! What else, made the buttons transitions nicer. I like it. Oh yeah, also, quite big one, added more information on the sign up screen for the email field, and show the email used when sending the verification email. Because sometimes, a typo get in there, and you never receive the email. And added an option to edit your email if you made a typo. Neat! That should be it. Cheers,
