Prior iteration was VASTLY better than this new “Casualino” version. An enormous step backward. You can’t go back to see the original hand after the hand has been played out. The only way to learn is to compare scores and then go back and see why your score fell short. Other aspects of this version also don’t measure up to the prior version. You butchered a fabulous game, one that outshines all other single player duplicate bridge games.Problems with this and the prior version: The computer doesn’t get that overcalls can be made with fewer points. The computer doesn’t understand lead-directing doubles. The computer seems reluctant to lead a suit that partner bid when choosing opening leads.

New issues and continuing disappointment

A new glitch has developed in the past week or so. When playing a hand, the card play rotates counterclockwise instead of clockwise. The arrows indicating who should play seem correct, but it is very disorienting and I need to reboot my iPad to (temporarily) correct the problem. It seems to occur on a daily basis. A continuing disappointment is the inability to replay a hand. In the former version, I enjoyed the opportunity to try to improve the play or see how a hand played with different bidding and contract. Although I love to use this app, I am now looking for an alternative…it is not worth the subscription price.

At the moment the only supported Bridge Baron versions are BB 29 both Windows and Mac, and Bridge Baron Gold, if you are using iPhone/iPad. Opening lead specification

I have enjoyed Bridge Baron for decades, but was not pleased when my one-time-payment license was revoked . I subsequently purchased the $5/mo option fully expecting it to be at least as good as the “old” version. I dd not get to play until today. The deal I entered went as expected thru the card distribution, dealer selection, vulnerable selection, and bidding along with save. The problem is, the option to specify the opening lead seems to be missing. This is an unacceptable and completely unexpected restriction. I tried the deal multiple times using undo ….. which undid the bidding in addition to the opening lead. It then added more bids making the original saved contract unavailable. I was never able to specify the opening lead. Kindly tell me how to specify the opening lead, or cancel my subscription. Thank you, Ron Smyrski
A bug that needs fixing

After an opening lead, each player should play in order clockwise. But sometimes bridge Baron reverses this order where each player plays his or her card in a counter clockwise order. I have to fix this problem by shutting down the iPad and rebooting. For $6.90 a month, a bug like this should get a rapid fix. But this has been going on for many months now.
