Never thought learning could be so fun!

Have been working on Salesforce Trailhead for 2.5 years. It is so much more than learning Salesforce and has been highly beneficial to me. Best advice, start with the cert you want to attain and dig in on that trail head. Along the way, there will be other suggested badges and you can customize your own trails to learn about various topics. Give yourself some time to search out badges that are unrelated to the trails you are on. There are badges for topics such as leadership, sustainability, project management, etc. I have developed several next step trails so that I can continue my educational aspirations. Have fun and I’ll see you on the trails!!!

I love Trailhead, but…

There is no replacement for hands-on learning on the job. The trails and modules with Videos and Videos of User Stories are much easier to understand than those without videos, links to videos or images that convey the learning. Trailhead has allowed me to have a very broad understanding of ALL that Salesforce, Mulesoft, Slack, APIs, and modern CRM cloud technology can do. It has also allowed me to see that Salesforce CRM is “everywhere” in almost every industry and non-profit. There was a time, many years ago, when I was that person asking, “What is Salesforce?” “What does Salesforce do?” I am far along in my Trailhead journey, and though I still consider myself a marketing graphic designer and writer, I would not want to work at Salesforce if I didn’t understand all that they do in the world. Trailhead is a great way to learn how modern cloud technology is utilized in business, schools, hospitals and nonprofits. It is a free education that can learn to a greater appreciation and understanding of current technology and trends in the business world.

Great for on smaller device, but not on the go

I love using the Trailhead GO app for completing modules on my iPhone and iPad, but I wish it had an offline mode and here’s my user story: As a Trailhead learner planning a trip by airplane, I want to download modules while still on Wifi before getting on an airplane, and then when in the air I could study the downloaded module, and then when back on the ground and on wifi I could take the quiz.Also, I would like an easier way to find the module I was last reading (just like how web browsers have a history). And I would like an easier way to organize my next-up modules. Finally, as a 4x certified user, I would like a clearer listing of the modules I need to complete to maintain my certs.

They write and source modules not just on the technical concepts but also cover a lot on the the domain knowledge on Sales, service , marketing and several business areas where the technology is relevant. This focus on the business side of things and earning those badges can clearly make a developer, architect or other techie separate out from the crowd and feel super satisfied. It leaves you to learn and earn more badges 👍
