Band, choir and orchestra auditions in one app. Students record in one take, directors manage their students, judges score online, organizers get ranked results. Are you ready to share your true talent? HeartOut is the only app that guarantees your audition videos are recorded in live conditions. How does it work? 1) Download the app and register 2) Join your private audition by scanning the QR code or typing the code your director or organizer gave you 3) Fill in the registration, record and submit IMPORTANT! Recordings on HeartOut simulate a live performance: no editing and no uploads from your camera roll. The organizer decides how many takes you get. Simply start recording and play your HeartOut! Also in the app • Uploads finish on their own, even if you lose connection or close the app • Auditions with several events, each with its own slots and questions • In person or by video, with your schedule in the app • Directors sign in with their school account and can register, record and submit for their students Your videos are never public. Each audition belongs to the organization that runs it. Worked well!

I was very happy with the app. I had 47 students to record and submit recordings. I did most of these on my phone. What I noticed is that most of the issues we had were either user error or a phone that was an older phone. There are certainly a lot of directions to follow, but if they are followed carefully the app works great almost every time!I also had the opportunity to act as a judge this past weekend, so I could see the app from the other side. I was very pleased with how easy it was to use. I was able to judge on my laptop, iPad and my phone!

Honestly, a few years ago, I had to upload an audition with this app. I was young, I didn’t understand responsibility. I procrastinated and auditioned on the day it was due. It took forever to upload and I ended up missing the audition date. Luckily, the judges gave people like me a second chance. I was still furious to the point where I was crying. But it turns out, I had no storage on my phone (not to mention our internet was horrible). After deleting a few things, it worked just fine. I still don’t really like recording auditions. However, I got over the personal demons I was battling, and I’ve come to peace with this app. It’s not that bad. It gets so much hate, and I get it. Being a student with a lot going on, taking my personal time to record a video audition feels like more of a burden than going to a live audition. It feels optional when it isn’t. But at least I get three chances?? It’s easy to operate and the instructions are straightforward. I don’t have any problems with it anymore. I hope more people can come to realize that.

I tried to submit a recording for an audition but the app crashed and lock me out of submitting it causing me to have to upload my worst attempt instead of my best.

A take now counts from the moment you start recording. Locking the phone, switching apps or pulling down a menu during a take loses it, so record in one go. The screen stays on while you record. When your last part is in, the app asks you to submit the audition. Confirming a new account is simpler: type the code from the email. Events appear in the order your organizer set. Directors can submit a student’s audition from the Students list. Small fixes.
