Once I figured out my 2.4 gig network (it doesn’t work on 5 g) using the app was really easy and I get so much satisfaction from watching my plants grow!

The fixture I spent 229 dollars on has lost major functionality, because I can’t get the app to add my device. So now I’m not able to use timers or dimmers or anything on the app. Spent several evenings, hours, trying to troubleshoot. My IT person (works in IT) got onto my computer remotely and looked at various settings and at what was trying to connect, etc., and he did say the app is connecting to everything it needs to, but after troubleshooting every possible avenue he could think of, said maybe it’s the light fixture. I don’t know how to determine what’s wrong where but it looks like I paid a lot of money for a device I can’t connect to the app. Frustrating and very disappointing. :(

I purchased one of the ModSprout light fixtures for my mother. After spending more than three hours, trying to connect to the light, I have given up. I tried using my mother's Samsung phone and my Apple iPhone. Neither would ever connect to the light. The app is extremely finicky, requiring me to enter my Wi-Fi password over six times each time I try to connect to the light. I intimately know the password for my Wi-Fi. I even turned the Wi-Fi password off to see if I can get it to connect and still no success. I followed every step that the app required to make connection. Therefore, I would deem this a crap app.

I was forced to “upgrade” to their app-controlled experience when I sent my grow frame in for warranty service. Unfortunately the schedules I set regularly do not run and every time the app updates itself the schedule gets disabled. I’m not sure why they’re overburdening the very simple concept of a timer with wifi connectivity and an app that clearly doesn’t work.
