We love Till. My daughter wanted a debit card, and we wanted something appropriate for a 9 year old but with all the useful features of a normal bank account. We love the cash back and dividend earnings! I like that I can monitor her spending, assign paid chores, and even lock her card (or easily order a new one) when it gets misplaced. The customer support is super responsive and helpful too. They replied so fast (and fixed the issue) that I thought it was an auto reply, but when I responded I got a personal response. We pay the very reasonable annual fee for instant deposits and cash back, but definitely not required if you can wait a few days for the deposits. I also love that she can keep the account once she is old enough for direct deposit. My only hope for improvement is that it is hard for others to send her money (lots of questions required and not an easy scan and go like other payment methods - (Venmo, cashapp, etc). I’m not sure if this account can be connected to Venmo/Apple Pay/etc … I haven’t tried, and I have no idea if there is ATM access. But, she just gives me any cash she receives and I can instantly transfer from my account to hers so it is not a big deal for our needs.
Terrible customer service

It’s been 2 weeks since I tried setting up an account using till. They would not approve my account for some reason - they never gave me a reason, they just said they would review it and contact me. Still waiting on that contact. I tried logging in to the app but I get an error stating “email or password is incorrect”, so I tried resetting my password, that did not work, I still get the message. I’m able to sign in on their help site, but not on the app. I sent a support email request, still have not heard back. I even tried calling - I had to find the number by searching “till financial customer service number” because they do not list it on their site or their app. I waited for 1 minute 30 seconds, then a message stating that the customer service representatives were either unavailable or busy and if I wanted a call back to leave my information and a brief message. Well, it turns out you HAVE to leave that information because they just hang up on you. It doesn’t matter how many times you call you will always get that message, and they will always hang up on you. I left a message with my contact information. Still waiting on that call back. The thing that irritates me the most about this is - I would not even waste my time with this broken app and garbage customer service if I didn’t have to. My daughter’s school requires her to have this for their school trip. I’ve never experienced this level of depravity before, but I suppose I can expect more of this to come.

Edit: The company ended up responding that they had a personal emergency and were unable to respond to customer service requests for a few days. They did indeed end up mailing a bank card via FedEx Express and it worked great for my daughter on her trip. I changed my star review from one to four as it would be helpful for them to have a backup person to answer customer emails.I tried twice to receive a bank card for my daughters trip as this company was recommended by EF Tours. Eventually their customer service just started ignoring me once I expressed that her trip was sooner than the 15 business days they ended up asking me to wait to receive the card (original time estimate was 7-10 days). Let’s also mention that for the second attempt, I expressed it was urgent and they didn’t send the card out for a WEEK after they lied and told me it was sent next day. For the third attempt, all I wanted was the card overnighted with signature delivery so I had a way to send my daughter money when she was on her trip. I’ve emailed multiple times and have gotten zero response. This company doesn’t seem to care about their customers and they take 48+ hours to respond to emails before they just flat out start ignoring you. Would never recommend them to anyone.

My daughter has been using Till for about a year. Recently we had issues with our account at Chase being compromised and had to get a new account number. I forgot to update it with Till and sometime later, when I went to add money to my parent wallet it triggered a fraud alert and I woke up to a closed account from Till. Since my daughter relies on this card for small day to day purchases I immediately went to work sending emails and leaving messages. The first call back I received was from Kevin Costello, the head of customer service. He had already emailed me back and by the time he called the account was back up. He walked me through what had happened and I was able to understand the protections in place for me and my daughter. The issues were resolved and I was very pleased. I then received a call from the CEO, Taylor Burton, who had just landed in Mexico City but wanted to personally address my concerns. Now, I am a person who believes in calling out bad service but hand in hand with that is complimenting service that goes above and beyond.Till achieved that mark with both Kevin Costello and Taylor Burton. For the two of them to respond as quickly as they did and to have resolved the issue with little or no troubles on my end is something that should be applauded.My hat is off to them and I would gladly and happily recommend Till to parents who want to teach their kids fiscal responsibility and at the same time know that their funds will be safe and their accounts protected. Bravo!
