I highly recommend this app for practicing multiple choice questions. This app helps keep me on pace and organized. I am much more likely to study and practice questions on my phone, tablet or computer browser than I am to physically retrieving a book, stopping all other activity, and setting aside a time and physical space to utilize the book. I am not against books at all, but for me, they function best in a library and when I have no other obligations; and of course, as another resource if the answers and explanations in practice question are not sufficient for you. Not always, but usually, explanations are more thorough in a physical book because apps and websites are focused on convenience. I am satisfied with most of the explanations in this app, but not all of them. Books may also be more economical by paying once, rather than paying the monthly subscription fee to use an app (I think this app’s price is fair). You have to do what seems to work best for you. Doing as many questions as possible works best for me, while reading, for me, has much less utility, unless I need a book for the more thorough explanation like I mentioned above. An app also shows you the big picture by showing where your weak areas are and allowing you to focus on those weak areas, rather than having to remember or write down where and what areas you need to work more on. I have found a very few answers and explanations incorrect, incoherent, or ambiguous, but the app’s team has been very responsive in reviewing my few complaints or questions, but show them the exact question you want assistance with.
5 exams passed so far!
Uncle-Scar
I usually fall asleep watching videos and reading the text is boring. Jumping in feet first with tests from this app works best for me because it challenges me. I love the community average stats for each question. This app is a life saver. Tip- Set up your tests using 100 questions and never before seen questions. Now just plow through until you complete that round of questions. Then do another 100. Repeat this process until you have done all unseen questions. This ensures you go through each question once. Then do the missed questions quiz. Then review the questions as you please. I really like the ability to chose upon which categories to be quizzed. This feature allows me to work on my weakest area. The app can be customized by test size, new vs. seen questions, missed questions, timed, and weakest subject. The app saves my progress and current test if I force quit the application. Each question also provides detailed additional information with references when answered if you wish to review it. I love being able to study with my puppy in my lap, outside, or in line at the store. I’ve passed 5 exams now! I will be getting several more qualifications which is why I think this is a great value. If you want quality, you have to pay for it. I’ve been using this app for almost a year now. A+ core 1; 2 weeks, A+ core 2; 2 weeks, Network+; 2 weeks, Security +; 1 Week, Project +; 1 Week. Passed all on first attempt. I also use videos and take notes from text books for each exam. CySA+ is what I am studying now. I test soon!
Very good app
h7hill
It’s a pretty good app. I haven’t taken the exam yet so I’ll update my review afterwards. So far the questions are scenario based similar to the real exam (so I’ve been told) and if you’re working towards earning multiple certifications then you might as well purchase the year subscription. For now I purchased the monthly subscription only because I plan on taking my Network+ relatively soon. I do wish they’d come down on the pricing packages by $5-$10. My recommendation: before using this app thoroughly read a reputable book on the exam topic you’re studying for. After you have a good basic understanding then download this app, upgrade to their paid version then take an assessment practice exam of 100 questions similar to the real exam. This app will then tell you what your strong parts and weak parts are. Downlod the official objectives from compTIA and focus on reviewing on your weak parts. Keep using this app to take practice exams and quizzes until you’ve answered all 828 questions. Flag the questions you completely do not understand and study those (don’t memorize) them backwards and forwards.
A+ Free Users Provided Just 50-55 questions
T--Ditty
Was I expecting something for nothing? Not exactly. I saw that this app had “in-app” purchases. Was I expecting a bit more than 50-55 questions out of the 1,000 questions available for COMPTIA A+ 1001 and 1002? Ab-so-lately. To be honest, the number of questions available did NOT even give me enough resources to utilize the app over two consecutive days so that I could determine if the study reminder functions and other tools might be worth the subscription price. Thinking about it, I originally thought 3 stars for this app, but the fact that it didn’t provide enough for me to determine if the price was worth paying, well, I’m gonna go with 2 stars. Other elements I didn’t like: 1) Acronyms are not fully spelled out (as an example from my head, “SSID” would be described as “SS Identifier”). 2) They do not do a great job of fully explaining why certain answers are correct, and they certainly do not do a very good job at explaining why some answers are incorrect which is almost as important. 3) I liked how the answer details provided reference back to a specific learning guide/book/resource, but a link to that page would be helpful (even if it would also force you to buy the resource. Who knows, maybe that would generate some revenue). TL;DR Version: Meh. I’d skip this one unless you’re ready to $$$. It’s just 50 or so questions and the explanations aren’t fully baked. Good luck to everyone taking cert. exams!! Cheers!
