Hello everyone, I’m back, and I hope you haven’t forgotten me.
These past two years have brought me countless experiences and encounters with so many people. I’ve asked myself: what do games really mean to me? I’ve been in the gaming industry for more than a decade, creating numerous commercial games. Every one of them felt like a soulless shell, draining every penny from players.
I’m just an ordinary technical secondary school graduate. Right after graduation, I worked as a theater attendant. Every day at work, I stood to greet the audience who came to watch the shows and the performers who came to stage. I thought that was probably where my life would stay. For someone with my educational background, that job already felt like a blessing. But young and naive as I was, I was always drawn to the colorful outside world. I loved playing games at home, hehe. Then one day, by pure chance, I stepped into the gaming industry, embarking on a challenging and unknown journey. I moved forward cautiously, eager to learn. What should have been a smooth path turned out to be incredibly difficult for me.
The gaming industry fully ignited my curiosity. I wanted to learn everything: programming, art, design, and game balancing. Looking back, it was all for a childhood dream of making games. That was the most confusing time of my life. As I grew older, I lost sight of what I truly wanted, and I felt surrounded by uncertainty and pressure. Later, this game helped me open my heart and truly break free from that dark place. Meeting all of you lovely players gave me hope and the strength to keep going. Thank you so much.
This year, I made a life-changing decision: I officially left the mainstream commercial gaming circle and returned to my own small world. Together with a close friend, I formally founded GoingGames! Why this name? It’s simple. It comes from glowing fireflies, symbolizing finding one’s own light even in a dark and difficult world. We will shine like fireflies, contributing our faint but sincere light to Chinese games. We hope this light will one day be seen, accepted, and recognized by gamers all over the world who truly love games.
Although our studio is still small, and our game quality cannot yet compare with big studios, I hope you can feel the care and dedication we put into every product we create.
If you’ve patiently read this far, thank you — we are kindred spirits. Please remember this name: GoingGames.
I will be a game developer with a soul!
