The Trained Eye is the smart driving companion built for learner drivers, new drivers, and anyone who wants to become safer and more confident behind the wheel.
Using your phone's sensors, The Trained Eye automatically detects when you start driving and tracks every trip in the background — no buttons to press, no setup required. When your trip ends, you get a detailed score and breakdown of your driving behaviour, including hard braking, sharp cornering, rapid acceleration, speeding events, and phone use.
HOW IT WORKS
The Trained Eye runs silently in the background using your phone's built-in motion and location sensors. It automatically detects the start and end of every drive, analyses your behaviour in real time, and delivers a score out of 100 when your trip is complete. The more you drive, the smarter your coaching gets.
TRIP SCORING & FEEDBACK
Every trip is scored out of 100 based on five key behaviours:
Hard braking
Rapid acceleration
Sharp cornering
Speeding
Phone use
After each trip, you'll see exactly what happened and when — with timestamps for every event and a personalised coaching tip based on your recent driving patterns.
PROGRESS TRACKING
Watch your driving improve over time with your score trend, skill breakdown charts, and 30-day average score displayed right on the home screen. The more consistent your driving, the higher your score climbs.
PARENT PORTAL (Premium — $9.99/month)
Let a parent or guardian follow your progress without being in the car. They can view your full trip history, scores, and events through a secure web portal or the app. Up to 4 drivers per account.
INSTRUCTOR PORTAL (Premium — $19.99/month)
Built for driving instructors and coaches. Manage up to 20 students, view their trips and scores, track improvement over time, and send detailed driving reports by email. Everything you need to run a data-driven driving program.
