Why do you charge 20birr to reset the app???

The app works great but I don’t understand after a short time, you guys put an expiration date. The local bank worker charged me 20birr for downloading and resting the app. That is not fair to charge us. I didnt get a receipt don’t even know if the money went to the bank. It’s not right at all I am disappointed in the culture of all your employees as they talk on their personal phone and ignore customers, chitchat with each and never help unless you ask them. You are a giant in the banking industry please please do better when it comes to customer service care. We take our time to go there to get service, not to be abused or looked weird. You should encourage people to go paperless and use CBEmobile gladly. Not cool

CBE should be leading other banking and start interbank exchanges to. One thing I hate Ethiopian banking system is that, every bank force’s you to open an account to do any business to inflate their customers numbers. If you have bank account in Addis Ababa and want to change even a phone number or even want to transfer large amounts, they demand that you open an account in the city and branch you are trying to do business:( otherwise you have to do the original bank you that you open your account! this practice need to be stopped immediately. Other than that the app saves a lots of time! The maximum amount of money to be transferred needs to be changed and also the transfer limit need to be removed. To do 20 transactions a week, we are opening four bank accounts! And so on... your policy only hurts the law abiding customers...

As a long-time customer of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), I’ve relied heavily on the mobile banking app to manage my finances. However, my experience using the CBE mobile app outside of Ethiopia has been consistently disappointing.Most of the time, the app simply does not work when accessed from abroad. It frequently displays vague error messages like “Network Error” or “Service Unavailable”, even when I have a strong internet connection. Transactions don’t go through, and logging in is often impossible for days or weeks at a time. There’s also little to no support or guidance on how to resolve these issues for customers living or traveling outside the country.In today’s globalized world, where mobile banking is expected to function seamlessly across borders, this is a major letdown. Many Ethiopians abroad depend on the app to send money, pay bills, or simply monitor their accounts, and it’s frustrating to be locked out with no clear reason or fix.CBE really needs to improve the reliability and accessibility of its mobile banking services internationally, or at the very least, provide clear communication and technical support for its diaspora customers.Until then, I wouldn’t recommend relying on CBE Mobile if you’re living or traveling outside Ethiopia.
