Through the app, users can access all of Barbell Medicine's free training templates, like The Bridge, The Beginner Prescription, the Peaking Templates, and the Free Strongman Template along with their associated e-books.
All of our other templates and associated resources are also available to improve strength, muscle size, endurance, and/or return to exercise from injury. Additionally, a 2-week free trial is available for all templates, and if you're new to training a quick questionnaire can help you determine where to start.
At Barbell Medicine, we believe that data is useful for making decisions about training and health. The app lets users store and browse data from an unlimited number of sessions in your history, which will sync across your iOS devices, including:
• Exercise selection, with over 1,200 built-in exercises to choose from
• Weight, reps, and RPE (Rating of Perceived Exertion)
• Training duration and rest periods
• Maximum weight lifted for any given exercise, up to 10 reps, including 1-rep max
• Exercise volume, like number of reps executed or minutes performed in a week
• Fastest average pace and distance traveled for endurance-related exercises
• Body weight, BMI (Body Mass Index), and waist circumference
• Communicate with your Barbell Medicine coach via in-app messaging
• Store your exercise videos, including uploading them to the cloud for your Barbell Medicine coach to review

The programs are great. Worth the purchase. I rerun old ones all the time. The user flow doesn’t get in the way, very easy to jump into the next workout and see what’s you need to do. Also easy to look back at previous sets of an exercise, whether the exercise is part of the current template or not. Only gripe is the button and box extents are too small and should extent beyond the outline if possible. As in, I miss hit the number pad 20-50% of the time. And I will record 58 reps instead of 5 reps at RPE 8 because I miss hit the next box with my thumb. There is a next arrow for navigation (it’s also too small), but that’s not how people use phones. You touch the open box to go there. Otherwise, it’s a solid app.

Great content - decent application

The barbell medicine group has some of the best general exercise advice / plans / programs there is. The depth of the info in the programs including the PDFs is pretty exceptional.The only reason I gave it four stars is the app is still somewhat unintuitive for some routine actions. For example the only way I’ve found to preview upcoming workouts is to go to the purchases page and look at the full calendar of workouts. Would be nice to have at least a weekly schedule tab with all upcoming workouts not just the next workout which is the only option currently.While pretty exceptional in its functionality I find the workout journal to be a bit cluttered and substituting exercises is not as simple as it could be.

I just want to start off saying I’m a huge fan of Barbell Medicine and their mission, with an emphasis on health outcomes. The app is solid and Barbell Medicine has hands down, the best programming I’ve ever done. The RPE calculator is a really nice tool to use. With all of that being said, I would like to see a warm-up calculator, plate calculator, and rest timer. That would make the app 3 times better. I’m currently using 4 apps to do my template(BBM, a warmup calculator, a plate calculator, and a rest timer). It’d be really helpful if this was all packaged in one app. It’s taking every fiber of my being not to switch to Juggernaut AI, but I feel like Barbell Medicine has a bigger emphasis on health, and I’m not a powerlifter. Regardless of what happens I’m super grateful for Barbell Medicine!

Good, but missing latest templates

The ability to sync to my already purchased programs is great! The interface is easy to manage and I like the tools and features built into the app. With that said, I was disappointed my recently purchased low-fatigue and powerbuilding III Templates were not listed. Also, in my hypertrophy II template, changing the exercise has to be done in the session. I am not able to select exercises the same way as the excel sheets.

The Powerbuilding 3 and Low-Fatigue templates simply have not been added to the app yet, but will be finished and available very soon. Regarding your other input, thanks for the feedback and we'll consider your suggestion!
