PSWD is a comprehensive strong password generator for Mac, iPhone and iPad.
Features of PSWD:
• Three generation modes: random characters, pronounceable passwords that follow a consonant–vowel pattern, and passphrases built from dictionary words
• Passwords up to 128 characters, one or many at a time
• Minimum or exact counts per character class — uppercase, lowercase, digits, symbols, and your own custom set
• Exclude specific characters, or skip ambiguous look-alikes like 0 O o 1 l I
• Group characters with a separator at regular intervals for readability
• Entropy and strength calculated live as you configure
• Save presets and load them anywhere — they sync between your devices through iCloud
• Generate passwords from the Shortcuts app without opening PSWD
• On the Mac: a menu bar panel, a system-wide global shortcut that generates and copies in one press, open at login, and an optional hidden Dock icon
• On iPhone and iPad: a layout made for each device, with a choice of accent colors
• Full VoiceOver support
PSWD works completely locally on your device. It does not collect, store or transmit anything — not the settings you enter, not the passwords it generates. It is a sandboxed app that takes your privacy seriously.
EASY - Works great to generate passwords when Websites or Apps don't like Safai's suggestions
J-5bot
Works fast, very EASY, and quick access on the menu bar. No clutter, frills, ads, or data collection. Good privacy and security. Works with Dark Mode. Nice to have a PW solution for sites/apps that are picky or don't save automatically. My favorite feature? From ANY app there is a keyboard shortcut that will generate a secure password and then can be CTRL-V (pasted) right into the field. Super convenient! Nice to see a free app of such high quality. The in-app purchases are a donation to the developer which was well earned. Thanks!

My GOTO Password on all Apple Devices
Razzel-b-dazzel
I keep this one handy. If a Safari does not generate a password then I just generate, copy, paste and I'm done!. Then I goto Safari>Settings>Passwords to create a new saved login, paste the password, and now I'm supper done! I think Apple should take this and make it a part of the OS as not all websites are configured so that the browers recognize all the information needed to save the info in Keychain. Make passwords easy to make and save! Until then I keep this workflow and app!!!

This app is great. You are in control of how your password is generated. If it would be one suggestion for improvement it would be to allow user to eliminate any given special character. Some sites do not allow certain characters and ‘it’ invariably shows up in the password. This encourages the user to substitute something for the character in the password rendering it no longer ‘random’.

Hi, you can already exclude any character in addition to the ambiguous characters when you edit the password configuration.
A great password generator!

One of the handiest apps I have. How many times do you have a site (particularly federal government sites) that specifies a certain number of various categories of caps, lower case, numbers, special characters, symbols, etc. This app has you covered, it asks the for length of the string you want and the number of characters in each category. You click “generate” and it gives you random string that meets the criteria.
PSWD 5.0 is a complete rewrite. Everything is new, but all your settings are preserved: your password presets, iCloud sync, and Shortcuts keep working exactly as before.
• New Words mode: passphrases built from dictionary words, with configurable numbers, symbols, and separators
• A redesigned interface with live entropy and strength readouts
• A unified user interface on Mac, iPhone and iPad
• Password presets now remember which one you're editing, on all your devices
• iPhone: swipeable settings pages and a pick-your-own accent color
• iPad: a full two-column layout
• Mac: use the redesigned password panel in the menu bar, generate from anywhere with a global shortcut, open at login
• Passwords mode improvements: exact or minimum counts per character class, smarter exclusions
• German and Spanish language support
