The experienced crew of psychologists, nutritionists and personal coaches have developed a unique program for managing your eating habits and nutrition and realized it in the Welly app. APP TECHNOLOGY Trying to lose weight and stressed out? Can’t figure out why you can’t shed the pounds even after dieting? Welly will help you understand yourself better with reflection and personal recommendations for relieving stress. The app will help you pinpoint your problem areas and come up with optimal solutions in order to combat extra weight. METHODOLOGY In the app there are two principal methods connected to each other: - Behavioral change. Welly helps you change your lifestyle and gives you step-by-step guidance to form healthy food habits. - Portion method. It suggests consuming vegetables, carbohydrates, proteins and fats in particular portions. For instance, a fistful of veggies, a handful of carbohydrates, a palm of proteins and a thumb of fats. FUNCTIONALITY - 8-week personal plan of your daily diet for healthy weight loss. - Your own menu made up from products in your fridge or food you can easily buy in any store in order to lose weight in a healthy way. - Control the consumption of veggies, carbohydrates, proteins and fats in each portion to enrich your body with good microorganisms. - Recommendations for a portion size and other components of a well-balanced diet. - Water tracker that helps control the water balance in your body within a day. - Step tracker that helps monitor your muscle toning exercises within a day. - Academy – videos, articles and stories that help you learn more about healthy eating and get into balanced diet culture. Welly uses Apple Health to automatically import your steps and give you accurate feedback and advice. Welly knows everything about step-by-step weight loss and habit formation. I really love the app. But it’s missing some features. 1. It would be better to have a calendar or chart of the past progress and a “today” button instead of choosing today’s date manually. 2. I have to exit the app to refresh the Today page. 3. It would be really nice to add a carnival diet to the options or at least keto.

I downloaded Welly because I was interested in a nutrition tracker that didn’t count calories and where I didn’t have to take pictures of everything. The hand-based portion tracking in Welly is great. But I don’t love the emphasis on weight loss and overly specific recommendations. For example, I’m not going to pick meat out of a sandwich or mixed dish like curry or chili in order to “eat proteins first.” And while calorie trackers usually allow some customization for nutrition/hydration goals (being able to change macro ratios, for example), that doesn’t seem to be possible in Welly. (The protein amount recommended seems significant, especially given how few foods “count” as proteins in the app.) I wish it were a little easier to find tools that help with gentle nutrition, but it’s still kind of hard. :/
