4 stars but had to get your attention. About to pay my 3d annual premium and have no contact with anyone. I know that neither my wife nor I are set up correctly so we vastly under utilize your product and we are at risk. I think your staff should walk a new customer through the setup process so we have a chance at utilizing everything you offer. I have let financial institutions managing over 500 several times and I know what success takes. I have sold your product several times and I don’t agree with your new customer introduction because there isn’t one. Keep the faith. Ed NoyesThe Developer did contact me which was gratuitous at most. I am really serious that Aura seems to have a superior product but no one knows anything about it. You must initiate a process of introduction to the new customer . I know I am not set up correctly and do not utilize 50% of its capacity. As an example I mentioned to one of your employees that My VPN was off much of the time. She said that it was not supposed to be on all the time. I had no knowledge of that. How would I? My greater point is that I was not walked through an informed installation by someone knowledgeable and I really do waste $180 a yr by under utilizing this product. I was at every level of banking for 25 yrs and I was famous for fixing things. This lack of customer interface problem permeates the entire operation and it might be remedied easily by informed customer introduction. Ed Noyes

First device for child, Aura App calms our nerves

Aura Parental Controls were very easy to download and set up. Connecting my son's phone was also very easy. I like how customizable this is and it's not a one size fits all app. There are general content filters set for Children and Teens as good starters. The ability to add time limits to the entire phone and/or individual apps or types of apps is amazing! This feature is different because it has a scheduling feature so you can have different time limits for the week and weekend. You can have 5 adults total on the Aura account and, I believe, 50-55 devices total that can be monitored. I really like the Safe Search feature. I generally trust that my son is searching for legit things when online, however, that doesn't mean all of the results come up as something he should be exposed to. The Safe Search feature restricts what is seen in search results. The Bedtime portion is nice too. You can set a time for the time to go offline so there is no online activity allowed. You can still send messages and call during that time. I have not used the Safe Gaming feature yet but I see it something very beneficial in the future as he plays more online games with friends. If my son wants to add a new app or visit a blocked website, I will receive a message and can approve or deny that request from my device. The way I have his phone set up makes us feel comfortable giving him his first phone. Knowing the content is restricted and he can't play games and surf the Internet whenever he feels like it is a great feeling!

Stolen on Vaca

I had my purse stolen while on a personal trip to see my son & wife. I had pulled my clutch and had on my wrist when leaving the airport to get on a shuttle. Unfortunately, being unaware, someone must have slipped the clutch away from me & clipped the wrist strap. Forgot I had put around my wrist, I thought the clutch was in my shoulder bag. I got into the bag to pull tip money out of my clutch to learn I no longer had my purse on me with all my ID, cards, money & my travel card passport. Thank goodness I had my cellphone on me. It was a nightmare and the most hopeless & helpless feeling I’ve ever experienced. After canceling cards & requesting new, new license, having to report my stolen passport card to the State Department & the passport number shutdown forcing me to get a new passport, i had to take the next step to protect myself from ID fraud. I had heard good things about Aura and proceeded to secure my identity. I have a stronger sense of security now. I also loaded their antivirus on my laptop as well. Froze my credit reports, too. It was an expensive & hard lesson to learn but I feel safer with Aura alongside me.

VPN & APP is worthless

The security seems ok enough, nothing better than most would do. The VPN on the APP is horrible though. If you’re looking for VPN security use someone else. The VPN on this app constantly locks up everything on your iPhone. It works at first, then you leave the app and when you return it doesn’t let you back on the app. You have to go into your settings on your phone, try and turn off the VPN which it doesn’t let you do unless you keep your finger on the button in settings. Then you can go back into the app and turn off VPN and your good to go (sort of) again. I am paying AURA for a bundle of security including VPN and 99% of the time my VPN is off because if it’s on I cannot do anything on my phone. My MLB app doesn’t work most of the time with VPN on, I asked about this and nobody could answer or help me. My opinion is to use another company instead of AURA, sadly I already am a paying customer and am stuck with them for the time being. When my account is up I will be using another security, unfortunately AURA is not worth it because you can’t get what you expect and what you are paying for. Go through the other reviews and you’ll see that their VPN at least for iPhone is total garbage. I have contacted them numerous times and yes they are always nice and apologetic, but that’s it, the problem is never resolved, I’d rather have poor customer service but a service that actual works and I can use, with AURA I feel like I’ve been duped to pay for protection that I cannot even use, I wish I’d have used another service.
