So excited I have discovered this escape room style game after trying so many other very mediocre ones. The graphics are better than my switch or computer games, I love how each level has a clear theme / location, and most importantly the puzzles are creative, fun, unique, and just the right amount of challenging. I’ve been let down with similar game like the newer releases of my favorite puzzle series Nancy Drew and this has been my safe go to instead. Two complaints are: The hint button is in a spot where it’s VERY easy to click on by mistake. I click it when I don’t need it often and get a hint I wasn’t planning on using. And it eats up my coins. Very frustrating. The other is not being able to take a picture of the references to the puzzle answers when solving a difficult puzzle - esp ones with a lot of colors or numbers to remember. I have to take a screenshot on my phone, use a second phone, or go back and forth in game. There should be an option to view the piece of paper or a photo taken with the clue while doing the puzzle.

I love escape rooms so I figured I’d try a mobile app game. This was the first one that popped up and it had a ton of downloads with a good rating so I decided to try it. I am a beginner at escape rooms but I also feel I’m pretty smart and I have to say this game is challenging!! There are some parts of the game that are easier than others but I’d say half the time I’m completely puzzled and have no idea what to do. I don’t think the game rewards players with enough coins after each level. I feel like the amount of hints you need sometimes is too many for only being rewarded 50 coins after each level. That’s not even enough for 1 clue!! You almost NEED to buy coins to play, which I have. Sometimes the clues are such a waste of your coins and tell you obvious things that you already know, for example “switch 2 items on the map”. It’s like we already know that’s what you need to do, how about a clue as to WHICH ITEMS or what pattern we should be looking for? Also, sometimes I have no idea what exactly I’m supposed to be doing with a certain game. There should be clearer instructions. Also, levels might be a good idea for this app (beginner, medium, advanced). Lastly, there should be a confirmation when you go to use your coins because the spot it’s in is easy to hit accidentally and then there goes your coins. Perhaps a pop up asking if you indeed want to use a hint? For now, I think I’m going to look for an easier app which gives more rewards so that if I do need a hint I don’t have to keep spending money.

I enjoy the game. I can figure out most of the puzzles on my own, or with the occasional hint. There are some very hard puzzles, and you can get hints for 100 coins each for two, then 300 coins for solution. That could cost you 500 coins if the first two hints aren’t enough to solve the puzzle. To replace those coins you can watch ads for 20 coins each. That’s 25 ads! But the game limits how many you can watch at one time. You get coins for each consecutive day you play which is nice, but the max is 70 for the seventh day and each day after. So, if you can’t solve a problem, it’s going to deplete your coins by 500. It takes a lot to recoup them. Two bugs have occurred in my game…..I had to spend 500 coins on hints and solution to a puzzle I had already solved. I was just trying to get a hint at where to go to next in the game. I did get reimbursed for those coins. Thank you for that. But, when I was watching an ad, to get coins, the ad froze and I couldn’t close it. I closed the game and returned to it several hours later and the ad was still there. I couldn’t close it, so in frustration, I deleted the game. I hated to do it, because for the most part, I enjoyed playing the game.

I love the puzzle aspect of this game, mostly. There have been a few puzzles that even once I have the answer made little to no sense, but for the most part the puzzles are great. The story is kinda neither here nor there- like it doesn’t bother me but it doesn’t really add anything to the game. It doesn’t seem to matter and honestly I don’t care about it at all. Now the hints are the part that needs work. First, I think they are in the wrong order: they give you a clue first and if you ask for a new one, it just points to where you need to go. Maybe for some that is helpful but the clue for me already gives the spot away, so then I’m wasting coins on a hint I don’t need. I feel it should be the other way around- like first tell us where to focus and THEN the clue on how to solve it. Lastly, I don’t like that the last “clue” just solves the puzzle for you, well, it’s not the solution being done for me that is the problem, it’s just that most of them are done in a flash and then disappear! I want to know why/how that conclusion was made! I want to learn how it was done so I can keep it in mind for future puzzles. Please!Overall, I generally enjoy the game and can’t wait to see more stages and chapters.
