So I really like this app because it has a variety of styles and brands. The problem with this app is the inconsistency between the sellers, availability, and shipping. I placed an order almost 2 weeks in advance and the day before it’s supposed to be shipped. It was canceled. I never received an email or anything! I had no idea the item was even cancelled until it was too late. On top of that the attendant basically said just go find another one. They don't even give you an option to rate the seller like its suppose to. Then theres the 1000 dollar shipping insurance which is sooooo terrible because you basically cant rent anything good if your not in new york. The majority of the sellers on their aren't even in state, so good luck renting anything you actually like of quality. They have the WORST app glitches and most of the items you save either get removed or the renter is away. This app should focus on the quality more and maybe they would see a more rapid expansion because they just lost a customer who would have spent majority of my money there!

The concept of this app is great and the users on this app have a lot of good inventory, but unfortunately the positives stop there. I’ve been on pickle for over a year and had a number of incidents including where I’ve been erroneously charged fees despite me having already shipped back a rental (maybe turn off the ability to charge late fees after an item has been shipped?), a renter has stolen an item from me and pickle has allowed them to continue claiming they will ship it back for 2+ months without charging them, a renter has damaged my item and they would not charge them for it unless I paid the upfront cleaning cost, the list goes on. I feel like I’m constantly back and forth with pickle support and they never provide me sound rationale for why these issues happen, they do not stand behind their own policies, and they act confused and bounce me back and forth between multiple representatives. If they’re collecting 20% of our earnings, they need to be providing much better support to the owners who literally keep their business running - and they also need to have things in place like shipping protection and literally just a simple guarantee that they won’t mishandle your money and charge you erroneous fees?! Be careful and keep an eye on your bank account - they are not afraid to charge you “mistakenly” and claim they’ll refund you later - after you chase them down and go back and forth with support for a few hours, of course.

I’m disappointed in how stolen or late items are handled on the app. The policy is not clear (mark stolen after 7 days late)- however, the owner cannot “mark” item as stolen and you get constant pushback from the app team (you have wait 48 hours after they’ve reached out, which is not clear what the official deadline is and even still they will let an item be returned pass the 9 day mark). This delayed and inconsistent process is not only frustrating, but it also has resulted in rental cancellations or change my personal plans, that I caution those who want to rent things out. I understand things happen, but for non-emergencies/losses/etc there needs to be consequences or at least a transparent and defined process. In addition, one of my rentals that was delayed past the 7 day mark (which also consisted of 3 dresses totaling a significant amount of value) they said they could only provide 2/3rds the purchase value if you wanted monetary compensation. Again, 2/3rds the purchased value was not clearly stated anywhere. I asked for a detailed policy and was not provided anything of substance

Rented a dress for a wedding. When I got it, I noticed there was some pilling on the upper right chest area. Assumed from a bag a previous renter had worn prior to me. I didn’t know there was an area to report damage up on receiving the item and, to be honest l, expected some wear and tear as this dress had been rented out many many times. It was a delicate dress that I knew should not be put in the wash. Wore it to a rehearsal dinner for maybe 3 hours. Got a small food stain on it that I didn’t even notice (on the side of the dress). I returned the item under the assumption the lender would be dry cleaning it. I would’ve washed but didn’t want to fully ruin her piece. And would have dry cleaned if they asked for it. Cleaning instructions aren’t listed anywhere and pickle even states in their polices it is up to the lender. My lender never communicated cleaning direction upon return. The dress was dark and the stain will come out right away. I would have spot removed had I seen it but I didn’t. Anyways, lender gave me a terrible review and now I’m responsible for paying damages and dry cleaning even though it wasn’t from me and cleaning is supposedly on the lender. Won’t be using the app again and would not recommend.
