Community is very toxic and racist . A lot of the big alliances are crook they tax their member way too much when they don’t tax themselves. If you’re new you’ll never get into powerful position in an alliance because no way they’re gonna let u win over their long term friends that they know since 2015. That’s why all leader top 10 AA play since 2015 or 2016. Only alliance I like is Aargh because no tax ! any tax higher than 10% it’s too much and average Is 30%/30% . Also I was raiding a nation because he was an inactive applicant for a week. I got punish very bad they refuse to beige me to force me to wait 5 days until the war almost expire . Really toxic there wasn’t no second chances I try to apologize and I’m willing to pay double amount of damage I cause . They still refuse n be toxic punished me over attacking an inactive applicant . I don’t understand y they don’t kick inactive applicant lol. If they’re taking too long to apply they’re not worth it . I hope they make war rules if you don’t attack after you have 12 then war ends . Making a new nation wait 5 days n constantly sabotage them with spies that’s a way to kill the game . So I’m going to preface this by saying I really enjoyed the game itself. Reminds me of an old nation state I played in browser years ago. The problem is in order to get anywhere in the game you have to join an alliance or spend money to gather resources. So I did that. The alliance said it was a chill and easy going atmosphere. So I join and had to join discord which I don’t like using in itself. I join and immediately there’s a test. Basic stuff on if you’ve read the rules of the game. I easily passed and was accepted. Things were fine. They give you alliance objectives and I was crushing them. Then real life happened and I missed logging in for one day. I come back on the next day and I’m being absolutely roasted for “lack of dedication” and that my application was rescinded and I’d have to start all over again including all my objectives I did complete being wiped out and starting all over again. It was at that point I stopped caring about the game because any community who takes a game so seriously you’re treated like garbage because life happens just isn’t worth playing. I deleted my nation and my account. Great premise but you should be able to become successful without needing to join toxic communities that want you to commit all your free time and then send their entire alliance after you for missing one day. Just not worth getting involved with unless you like that sort of thing.

Politics and War is by far the best free to play browser/phone game ever. There are some pay to play elements but I assure you they do not effect the game. The community is huge. It says it’s a nation game but think of your “nation” more as a State or Province of a country. Alliances are basically countries you can join or leave at will. You have to join one to survive. Some alliances are democratic, some are oligarchies, many are dictatorships and one is Communist. This game requires discord to play to the full extent. Discord is a free to use social media app. You must have it to play this game. When you play this game, join a alliance that fits for you, and learn the game from the people who know. Discord is used for communication. This game community is wild and has all ages from all over the world. Like there is one alliance that has nothing but old boomers over the age of 50 and there is a Soviet Union, there is a Kingdom of Camelot, Roman Empire, Aurora space empire and dozens and dozens more. Each alliance is different and has their own gov that you can try to join or you can focus entirely on your lands and money saving. The goal of this game is to build more cities, defend those cities, and save your money and repeat. It’s a steep learning curve but you will play for a long time if you get a chance and make friends you never knew you would. The game is full of plots, schemes, honor, back stabbing, and is one of the most positive influences in my life.I hope you all give this game a chance and join us.

You get about 15-16 days to grow your nation. After that point, it’s a free for all for whoever wants to raid your resources and knock you right back down. There are people who have been there for years and will always have the larger and more developed army. And they will target you for easy pickings. Not that the game is even fun. Your only chance is to join an alliance. And almost all of those are going to require discord. I gave it more time since my 2 star review, and so far my experience has only gotten worse, puttering out very quickly, even with the daily log in bonuses. All they do is give you money for logging in every day. And you’ll quickly run out of that as you try to build up your cities, which get exponentially more expensive to grow, so you’ll have to build more cities. Your too small and poor to have any good national projects, along with the wait time for new projects as a new nation makes it not even worth trying to get started in the game unless you have friends who are just gonna gift you all the stuff needed to become an instant power house. The world is still completely irradiated, -100% food production on every continent except Antarctica, which has a -50% penalty already before its radiation debuff. Don’t bother unless you have somebody who’s going to carry you your first month in the game.
