Great no execellent app esp for beginners very user friendly and low or no costs

Ok so after last update of the app I believe it was the map location sharing update well it wrecked my app for days then I contact support and to my surprise I was contacted right away this gentleman worked resolving my issue alone for two days well beyond your normal expectations from support I don’t want to throw his whole. And out there Mr Thomas your awesome very appreciated your work helping me resolve and as promised a new review and this is as true and real as was the problem itself ; the solution was my iPhone wasn’t updated because I never got hooked to wifi to allow it so after iOS updates! I was back in perfect working order line nothing ever happened Mr Thomas then reminded me to confirm I was so excited all I did go through and listen to all my stuffs I thought I lost So definitely deserve 5 stars from me and highly recommended to anyone inquiring this kind of app this one is at the top in my opinion !!! Thanks Team !!

The app is great in design but still lacks important functionality. It was advertised as importing all my voice memos in iPhone, which took a great deal of my - but it imported them all with the same arbitrary date. I contacted them and first they said it was my error, then they realized it wasn’t. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app to remove the massive mess the import feature created, that didn’t work, so I’m just stuck with this mess within the app, defeating the purpose of importing them in order to sort them into folders. Meh. It also doesn’t work on Apple car play so if you want to listen to your voice or music in the car you have to still export it to another app to do so. The free version has not inspired me to buy the full version. My advice: use it as a stand alone, dont try to integrate it with past voice memos because it won’t work, don’t expect all the features to work, expect some glitches like the record button to sometimes not work, and for that sacrifice you’ll get something that works well for certain functions. I do hope they improve these things because it would be a home run if they did but I’ve had it for months and nothing has changed. Also this is form a user with an up to date relatively recent iPhone.

Hi Richard,We fixed a bug with incorrect ordering of voice memos in the last update. This should’ve automatically fixed all your existing imports as well; there was no need to reimport. I was in contact to several people about this, and everyone confirmed that it worked for them. I can’t seem to find an email thread with someone called Richard, unfortunately. If I somehow missed you, please shoot me an email again.Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t delete your data on purpose - that way, if you ever lose your phone, you can rest assured everything is backed up. You need to delete your account inside the app if you want to delete all your data.[Update] The newest version just shipped with much improved CarPlay support. Give it a go!Best,Thomas

I was really excited to find this app because I had wanted for a long time to have an alternative to voice memos that actually is usable and isn’t slow. This app worked for me for a couple of months and then stopped working. It is better than voice memos at an initial glance just from a speed and smoothness standpoint but there are multiple crucial problems which arise very shortly after using the app over time that prove that it is actually worse than voice memos. 1. The search function is unusable unless you pay a fee (the search function? Really?). 2. I can’t even scroll to find past recordings because the feature is broken and jumps around on my screen. 3. You have to pay to use stereo recording in the app. Voice memos can already do that for free. So bottom line is unless you pay them a subscription the app becomes quite useless after a couple months and to be quite frank is worse than voice memos so I highly recommend finding a different alternative. Unless you have the funds to be able to just have subscriptions laying around and even then make sure you make every recording give that’s the case because the scroll feature is broken (at least for me it is).

I really like this app. It's wonderful for quick recordings and musical idea cataloguing. It has become my every day musical sketch book. Takes no time to get going and that's important when you have something happening right now that you want to capture. The interface is simple, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing. The developer is also very responsive; I reported a bug and he had a new version with a fix in no time. I know some other reviewers are requesting more features, and there may be some room for growth here but the value of this app in my opinion is in doing one thing well without a lot of bells and whistles to complicate things.

Tape It now records in higher quality in the standard (AAC) format: 256 kbit/s in stereo and 128 kbit/s in mono, twice the previous bit rate. New recordings take up about 1 to 2 MB per minute. Lossless recording is unchanged.
Recording from a USB audio interface at a sample rate above 48 kHz no longer fails when AAC is selected. AAC only goes up to 48 kHz, so choosing a higher sample rate now switches to lossless. Imported files above 48 kHz are saved lossless as well.
With repeat on, a tape now keeps looping while you edit it, for example while you type its notes.
On a trimmed tape, dragging the playhead past the end marker now plays the trimmed end, just like dragging it before the start marker plays the trimmed start, instead of skipping to the next tape.
Exporting a long tape as MP3 is now several times faster. On iOS 26, MP3 and WAV exports also keep going when you lock your phone or switch to another app. While exporting, the Share button shows the progress, and VoiceOver reads it out. Tap the progress circle to stop the export. If an export is still interrupted, Tape It now tells you why.
USB-C EarPods and USB-C headphone adapters, such as Belkin's, are now treated as headphones instead of a USB audio interface: you can choose between the headset mic and the iPhone mic, just like with Lightning EarPods.
Tape It now shows your stereo setting for the built-in mics right away when it opens, instead of showing mono for a few seconds.
USB audio interfaces now keep their selected input channels and sample rate when you reopen Tape It or reconnect them.
If a recording can't use your saved settings, for example stereo or an interface's channels or sample rate, Tape It still starts it with what works and tells you what changed.
With the Bluetooth mic turned on, the record screen now shows the Bluetooth device you'll record with, instead of the built-in mics.
Your stereo and lossless choices are now kept if your subscription ends, and come back when you subscribe again.
Apart from that, this update improves the stability of the app.
