Basic options such as continue watching are not available in this app. Which means it is not easy to continue where you left off, which is a pain when doing some of the baking, and I’d imagine, other demonstrations. Often you wait while something cools, or you’re actually doing the project and when you go to continue where you left off it takes you back home or someplace else other than where you need to be.

The content is good, although the pricing structure isn’t great, especially with how autorenew can get people. After a really cheap initial year subscription I am letting mine expire later this month, although I haven’t utilized it a ton. Since it is expiring in a few weeks I’m trying to take full advantage of it but the app makes it hard. When I favorite a class and go to my favorites, it is stuck in the loading phase and never loads what I have favorited.I also do not like that on the Home Screen there is no way to get to classes I am currently watching sessions of to resume. It will have like one video to resume. And when you finish an episode, it’s basically impossible to get to the next one from it because it doesn’t autoplay, and of course doesn’t give a way to link back to the full course.In addition, having to use a web browser to download any patterns is frustrating, because the web browser does not show your favorites at all. I’ve looked everywhere and I can’t find them, so have to manually search each time. It would be nice if clicking on a link to get a pattern or resources would take you directly to the URL of the class rather than to just the home page. Because of these issues it’s been a struggle to even keep watching or want to keep watching courses these last few weeks and now I remember why I never really watched many videos after I became a member a year ago. It’s just sad that the app is like this because I have seen posts online that say that old versions of the app were much better and less frustrating.

Had to go to safari and “turn off content blockers” just to see subscriptions in the app. Then when I bought a year, app doesn’t function anyway, just hangs. It seems this facade of an app is actually just a vacuum for your personal information. To their credit, they don’t go far to hide it. It’s laden with Google spyware, had to get past an annoying 12-stage Google “captcha” on their website just to log in! I have no idea how good the app actually is, because this is about the marketing company. They are so focused on themselves and getting as much of your personal information as possible that they forgot to make the app functional. And this is the PAID subscription- $120 a year for this spyware?!? THAT’S “crafty” if anyone actually continues to pay for this. Instant refund request, Google and other spyware PLUS YOU CHARGE A HEFTY SUBSCRIPTION FEE?

Craftsy is an amazing resource for anyone who loves learning new skills and improving their craft. The video classes are clear and easy to follow, with great instructors across knitting, sewing, quilting, cooking, and more. I love that I can download lessons for offline viewing and revisit them anytime. Having access to patterns and class materials in one place makes projects much easier to start and finish. It truly feels like having a full craft library in my pocket.
