New - Set Up Radio: a radio that connects with no LoRa region opens a short setup for its region, preset and name. Open it any time from Connect or Settings. - First-launch setup starts with a welcome page, and the permission pages have plain icons and larger text. - See your connected radio's screen live in the app and press its buttons from your phone. Open Device Screen in the radio's node details. Needs radio firmware with screen mirroring. - The connected radio's 3D model shows its live screen, and the full-screen model fits the whole radio. Improvements - Offline maps show place names without a network, draw the ocean as water, size roads by zoom with tunnels and bridges drawn apart, and hide small streams and sidings when zoomed out. - Hillshade has a Shade Valleys option, and fades out past the zoom your terrain download reaches. - A finished mesh scan stays on screen until New Scan, which starts with the beacons it heard already selected. - The map's buttons are laid out like Apple Maps, top right on iPad, and a node's position map uses the same buttons. - Map pins group only when they overlap, and pins for approximate locations sit in the middle of their circle. - The weather radar draws smoothly instead of in squares. - Gray secondary text is easier to read in light and dark mode. - A Node Tracker widget says when its node is no longer in the node list. - The bootloader screens name the Meshtastic nRF52 Bootloader. - The MQTT root topic warning says it's reset when you change the LoRa region. - Updated device images, hardware list and Traditional Chinese translations. Fixes - Security fixes for remote administration and the TAK server. Remote administration now uses only public key encryption; the legacy admin channel option is gone. - TAK users: the TAK server now makes its own certificates. Remove the old Meshtastic connection in ATAK or iTAK, then export and import the data package again. - Your phone's position is sent with the current time. - The app no longer hangs when it sends nodes to the Apple Watch. - Fixed a crash building widgets while channels refresh.

New - Estimate Coverage now runs on your device instead of the online site planner. Terrain downloads once, estimates inside your offline maps work without a connection, and a new receiver height setting plans for nodes on a roof or mast. - Weather radar on the map in the lower 48 states. Turn it on in Map settings. - Import KML and KMZ map files from Google Earth, CalTopo and other tools. - Place a radio's 3D model on a table at its real size from node details, and meet Chirpy. - The Live Activity row on Connect is now Widgets: the Live Activity, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and controls in one place. - Node details show a node's long name when you have given it a display name. Improvements - Offline Maps has an Import row for MBTiles and PMTiles files. - MQTT root topics can use letters like æ, ø and å. - 3D device models have a gray backdrop in dark mode, so black radios stand out. - The connected radio box on Connect keeps the preset on one line. - The connection indicator fits on the open iPhone Duo. - Updated device images and hardware list. Fixes - Fixed a crash in the node list when a node's position changed while the app was in the background. - The Local Stats log and the Trace Route log no longer freeze the app. - The app no longer freezes on Connect while the radio's node list downloads. - The banner for nodes not heard on the current LoRa settings stays hidden after you choose Keep. - The powered and charging battery labels no longer read as "password" and "change" in German, French, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese.

New - Widgets for the Home Screen: Mesh Status, Messages, Node Tracker, Node Map and Trace Route. - Controls for Control Center, the Lock Screen and the Action button that open messages, connect to a radio or open the map. - The Live Activity now shows what you choose: a glance at your mesh, or one node you want to follow. - Trace routes are redrawn on the map, orange on the way out and blue on the way back, and the trace route log has a history chart, round trip times and a compact hop timeline. - The map can draw your radio's direct links, and links between other nodes from their neighbor info reports. - Find the MQTT root topics in use near you from MQTT settings. - Node details can show a 3D model of the radio. Tap the 3D button on the device image. - Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) translation. Improvements - Node details show a node's own environment readings first, with Apple Weather only when it has none, and the weather tiles are now even squares. - Every sheet has a close button. - Joining or scanning a mesh from a beacon uses the beacon's frequency slot. - GPS pin settings are hidden only on boards whose maker wired the GPS. - Unknown trace route hops show their node ID. - Traffic Management is no longer in settings; the radio manages it. - Fewer freezes when a node with a long history sends telemetry. Fixes - Nodes heard over MQTT, with an unknown hop count, or from packets the radio replays after connecting no longer show as heard directly. - Channel edits are sent to the radio before they are saved in the app. - Message lists stay on the conversation you selected. - Mesh Beacon settings keep their frequency slots when saved and load over remote admin, and remote admin keeps its session when saving settings. - Fixed a crash when a battery reported no level.

New - See which nodes your radio hasn't heard on its current LoRa settings. After changing preset, region or frequency slot, those nodes are marked in the node list and node details, a new filter can hide them, and when most of the list is affected you can remove them in one step. Requires firmware 2.8.1 or later. - Importing a configuration now checks itself: after the radio reboots and reconnects, the app compares what you imported with what the radio actually saved. - Adding a contact now warns you before it replaces a public key your radio already has for that node. - Factory erase on nRF52 radios with an OTAFIX 2.4 or later bootloader now keeps the installed firmware, and bootloader updates now cover five more boards. Improvements - Dark mode text and icons in the accent color are now much easier to read, including the map buttons, node actions and tab labels. - New messages stay in view instead of sliding off the bottom of the conversation, and incoming messages appear right away. - Smoother scrolling in the node list, and a faster contacts list. - Network radios that don't advertise a name now show their network name and address in the radio list. Fixes - Transmit power is back in LoRa settings. - The Nightly tab in Firmware Updates lists nightly builds again. - Wi-Fi firmware updates on ESP32 radios reconnect to the right radio after it restarts. - Shared location now sends the correct speed and heading, and other nodes' headings show correctly on the map. - Switching radios no longer loses power channel names, waypoint geofences and alerts, private waypoints, air quality history, or signed message badges. - A node's signed and verified badges now follow what your radio reports. - Reduced the chance of brief freezes while connected over Bluetooth on Mac.

Signed nodes Radios on firmware 2.8 sign what they broadcast. A node whose signature your radio verified now shows a green radio-and-shield badge beside its name, and there's a new Signed filter in the node list. Contacts you verified in person keep the filled person badge, so the two kinds of trust stay easy to tell apart. Nodes on 2.8 show signing state in place of the older lock icons; radios on earlier firmware keep the locks. Sharing contacts Share Contact is now on the Connect screen as well as a node's menu. The app will no longer share a contact with an empty public key, which could clear the key the receiving radio already had. Nodes you have no public key for are kept out of the contact list and no longer offer a Message button, since those messages can't be delivered. Firmware updates Over-the-air updates for ESP32 radios hold the connection through the reboot, over Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth, and stop cleanly if you close the sheet. When a radio refuses an update, the app explains why instead of repeating the firmware's wording, and a stuck update can be closed. Radios on unsupported firmware stay connected so you can update them. Messages Favoriting someone from a direct message sticks. A direct message row updates when the recipient's own acknowledgment arrives. Message lists refresh when something changes instead of polling for it. Nodes and settings The app offers to remove nodes that no longer share a channel with you. Traffic Management tells you whether it suits your node, and its time fields use interval pickers. Saving LoRa settings no longer assumes the radio reboots, and the region banner clears properly afterward. Long names are capped at what a 2.8 radio will keep, and Ambient Lighting now applies to the right radio when configuring another node. Backups Database backups are keyed to the radio's device id rather than its node number, so a radio that changes node number keeps one backup instead of collecting duplicates. Connecting A lost Bluetooth bond ends the reconnect loop instead of retrying forever. Available radio names refresh on the Connect screen, and swipe to disconnect reads as the destructive action it is. Appearance The dark theme uses the palette's own dark blues, and tinted buttons and confirmation actions are readable in dark mode. Also in this release: improved Korean translations, and product links now disclose that they may earn a commission.
