Music League lets you share and discover music (and rediscover some forgotten faves) by competing to determine the best songs for a particular theme!
If you want to discover new music, you will, all while you share songs you’re passionate about. With some luck, you can claim to have better taste in music than your friends, family or coworkers. You can even play with someone from the other side of the planet!
Music League fans play for many different reasons …to win, to reminisce, to reconnect, to get to know each other. But also to discover new tunes and rediscover older favorites by looking at music in a totally new way.
Music League players will submit a song for each round's "theme". Every round presents a new way to think about your music and a reason to share the songs you love, the songs you always thought deserved more love, or the songs you find that perfectly fit the theme.
Sample themes could include:
- Best cover song
- Songs that remind us of our Freshman Dorm
- Song I found TikTok
- Best song of 2026 so far
- Best song you've seen performed live
- Songs that remind us of the family cabin
- Songs to sing in the shower
- Song from an artist my child/parent should get into
Gameplay:
- Players submit a song that matches a theme
- The app creates anonymous, shuffled Spotify playlist … a free (or paid) Spotify account is required.
- Players vote for which songs they like best or the song that fits the theme best
- Players can comment on songs as they vote
- When the votes are in, you are able to see who submitted which songs, all the comments and, most importantly: who won the round!
- A champion is crowned for each round… updating the leaderboard along the way
- An overall champion for each Music League is named after the last round
- You’ll also see who gave you the most love…and the least!

I was a little skeptical about this at first since I wasn’t sure the fantasy sports concept would translate to music. I was dead wrong. I’ve played music league a few times now and had a blast with old friends who live in several different states. We all do our best to stay in touch, but Music League has this amazing power to get old friends back in touch and for current friends to stay in touch. The music aspect is amazing also since you hear some songs you’ve never heard or haven’t heard in a long time, but my biggest takeaway is how Music League builds relationships between old friends or has the potential to create new friends.
Fantastic App Dragged Down By Invasive Ads
WrongSandwich
Love love love this app and concept, I’ve had a blast playing it with my friends and it’s exposed me to a ton of new artists and music. I understand the developer’s right to earn money off their product, especially when they continue to have to provide support and infrastructure for running people’s leagues. But my GOD the ads on this app are incredibly annoying. I have no idea how much control they exert over which ads appear, but it feels like they’ve gone out of their way to pick extremely long and obnoxious ads to push people towards their subscription tier. My suggestion to the devs: please dial down both the length and frequency of your ads, as in their current form they really hamper the experience. And if possible, please offer a single-payment ad-free option in addition to the option to pay a subscription. I have enough subscriptions in my life right now and adding another one here is not an option.
Great service. Bad app.

Music league is an awesome idea and the service itself is pretty good, but the app frequently errors out. Usually it’s an “interstitial failed to load” meaning the service they use to load the obscenely long 30s-1min ads they use for revenue doesn’t trigger correctly which also means you can’t access the view you’re trying to get to whether it’s to submit songs or view results. I’ve gotten other red error boxes that appear telling me some function failed and blocking access to whatever I’m trying to get to.I’d actually pay for the service because it’s a cool service, but the poor development makes me think the money would be spent on more revenue generating material rather than fixing the issues that exist. If they made the app a good experience, I’d happily pay the couple bucks a month to suppress the ads. Until then, I’ll use the web app despite it not being responsive for mobile. At least it isn’t ad supported and actually works most of the time.
Love this app - a suggestion
awkwardturtletoes
This is my favorite app currently, I think it’s so fun. A suggestion as someone who has been admin for a few leaves- PLEASE give us the option to set an “intensity” ranking or something of the sort. So many leagues I’m in have people playing way literal and others playing fast and loose, then they fight in the chat over songs submitted. If I could have a meter on how literal everyone should take the prompts, I think people would end up in suitable leagues for their expectations. And maybe “die hards vs newbies” because that also seems to get people heated in the chat. Again, love this app and I’m having a great time - just a suggestion!
