Climb Meter is a climbing tracker built by a climber, for climbers. Whether you’re training indoors or logging sessions for fun, Climb Meter helps you capture each climb with accuracy and simplicity—right from your Apple Watch.
With seamless Apple Health integration, your climbing workouts contribute to your fitness data, including calories burned and overall activity tracking. Climb Meter automatically counts your climbs, records elevation for each route, and lets you log the grade after every ascent using either the American or French grading system.
Because the app works with Apple Watch, you can track your session without carrying your iPhone on the wall. After each climb, you can also review your heart rate recovery, giving you more insight into your effort and recovery between routes.
The app reminds you to start the app when you enter the gym and if you configure it, it also shows a QR code for signing in to you gym system.
Climb Meter also adds a social layer to your sessions. You can follow friends, invite them to follow you, and share the grades you climbed during each session.
Designed to be straightforward and climber-focused, Climb Meter offers a simple pricing model: try it free for 3 climbing sessions, then unlock it forever with a one-time purchase. No subscriptions.

The basic idea of this app is great but it needs a fix. I use this strictly in a gym. The watch component is great but you need to be able to log climb even when the app doesn’t think you did one. The app misses climbs a lot when I fall off a few times. If the wall is too short it doesn’t register. I want to be able to log a climb i did no matter what. A feed into apple fitness and or Strava would be great. Some sort of totals or summary of your climbing sessions by month or year would be great also.
Nice basic app.

This is a nifty little app that uses the Barometer in an Apple Watch to quantify the vertical distance climbed, and interfaces with the heart rate monitor on your Apple Watch to record heart rate. After you have topped out, it gives you a notification to add the climb rating. I have not tried it on multi pitch outdoor climbing, so I can’t comment on that. It does have a little bit of difficulty with single pitch outdoor climbing if the base of the crag is not flat, as it will occasionally record a small elevation change moving from one climb to the other, as a climb. It’s ideal application is in the climbing gym where it works very well.
App has a lot of potential

This app has a lot of potential but unfortunately doesn’t deliver (yet). It would be awesome if this app could sync up specific climbs with the HR and include moving time as well. This way you would be able to track progress and efficiently (am I moving faster on the same climb? Am I climbing more efficiently by decreasing my HR?) It would also be awesome if we could write comments on specific climbs and upload a picture as well. I also wish this app kept a data log of each session: calculating HR, moving time, and average grade for that session it could tell us if we are progressing -(this could be indicated on a graph chart) similar to my “workout” app that I use for strength training. If this app added more features AND tracked session climbing progress I would gladly pay a subscription fee.
Fun and simple

This is a great app for tracking rope climbs. If it could also track bouldering routes and projects that would really put it over the top. It works really cleanly with the Apple health/workout features.
Developer Response
Thanks for using the app. The app counts routes that you climb automatically based on measuring height as you climb. Boulders are not high enough to detect them reliably.
