Minimalist, perfect for those who have tried every other app

Long time user since the original version. The way I manage my money may or may not be the most efficient or best way to do it. All I was looking for was something to keep me “in my lane” as far as spending goes. At the beginning of each month, I add $xxxx as income and that’s what I have to spend on all incidentals for the month and all expenses come off of it.I’ve tried using my banking apps but those don’t always update in a timely manner. Apps which tie in your banking information only add in another layer to that. After trying every single one I could find, this was the only one that offered just what I needed. Think of it as keeping a budgeting notebook and pen in your pocket and making a quick note every time you spend. This is exactly how my spouse and I use it, and it works perfectly for that. I admit I do not use all of the functionality that the app it has to offer, however it was the only thing out there that offers the basic fundamentals of being able to share a ‘wallet’, and keeping things simple without complications of syncing, security, or added time/effort. Credit card and bank account balances should not be the emphasized factor when it comes to budgeting. What you set your budget to should be the focus, which should already be based off of the other things. Focusing just on that will simplify your life and this app has done just that for me. It keeps me on my toes, it keeps me honest with myself and it keeps my spending in check (especially with the widget staring at me all day). Do yourself a favor and forget all the others. This is the app you need.

I love this app! I got it a few months ago (I went all-in with the one-time purchase), and it has made it unbelievably better and easier to track my spending and create realistic savings goals. I feel like I have a much better understanding of my finances now, almost exclusively because of this app. Initially I was reluctant to try this because of having to manually input all spending entries, but it truthfully hasn’t been a nuisance in the slightest. It takes less than a minute (maybe even less than 30 seconds?) to enter an expense, and then you’re on your way again. In my experience, this app is FAR (I mean, *FAR*) better than Ramsey’s EveryDollar, though I never paid the subscription for that. Today’s Budget is much easier to use, much *much* cleaner, and I have no ads.One thing that drew me to this app was the ability to pay one time to get premium features (instead of paying monthly for budgeting…seems kind of counterintuitive to me). If I could go back, I’d make the same choice I did—trying out this app and paying once for lifetime access. Additionally, this app is fantastic because it doesn’t track any personal info…literally none. As far as I can recall, I’ve never had to enter my email address or phone number, which is so refreshing in this day and age! It is backed up to my iCloud, but that’s something I appreciate, and I don’t think iCloud backup is required by any means. The developers are also friendly and quick to respond to questions and concerns!Overall, I highly recommend this app to anybody who wants a better understanding of their finances and doesn’t want to deal with ads, doesn’t want yet another subscription service, and values their finances remaining completely private.

I used the original budget and back when today’s budget was originally released, I immediately paid for lifetime. I had switched to Samsung after a time but never could find something that even came close to comparing with today’s budget (or even the original.) I was so unhappy that I purchased an iPhone SE solely just for this app. I am an avid budgeter and have tried or purchase pretty much every budgeting app out there. I do have some favorites but today’s budget for me, outshines them all. One number is all I need to see every day. I enjoy zero based budgeting. Today’s budget is my daily driver and once a week I add my expenses into a more detailed app. If the developers build something totally different in 10 years, I’ll be purchasing lifetime for that too! Privacy respected, developers who are active with their customers, the easiest budget, great UI, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do!
