Why should I use Butter?
Butter is a tool built specifically for hosting engaging and collaborative sessions as smoothly as possible. We focus on empowering facilitators and hosts by giving them all the tools they need in one place, and engaging participants through intuitive features such as the speaker queue and emoji reactions to make everyone feel heard.
How do I join a session?
All you need to do is enter your name and type in the Butter link when you join on mobile. See the step-by-step guide here: [http://howto.butter.us](http://howto.butter.us/).
Is Butter free?
Pretty much! We have a Free plan that you can use, forever. We also have premium plans for more advanced use where you can have multiple co-facilitators, more participants, and record your sessions.
Is Butter GDPR compliant?

Do you need an account to join a Butter session?
Nope! Participants can join by clicking the shared invite link.
Do you need an account to host meetings on Butter?
Yes. In order to set up and start a session, you need to have a Butter account and set up a room on our web application.
First let me start by saying I love Butter. I use the desktop app mostly and it works amazing, great features and experience. The mobile app while great for joining existing sessions, honestly lacks as I’d (and I’m sure many others) would expect to be able to schedule new meetings, not just join ones already made via our desktop account. Being able to have full account access to all features from the mobile app as the admin would really be helpful to our workflow to quickly setup sessions while on the go. Please consider making this option a reality.

I give up trying to use this. My Desktop has now crashed because of Butter. DO NOT USE‼️‼️‼️. It’s screwed up my webcam so I can’t use it now. Somehow it must have changed my settings. Have to have a repair guy come on Saturday. I’m livid. I was on a call with Butter when I couldn’t get the video to work. The support said go to settings and click performance. Go to advanced and click “Pure Performance.” As soon as I did that my computer crashed. I rebooted snd was never able to get back in. I am now unable to use my webcam on my desktop, however it was working just fine before my Butter meeting. The webcam works on my laptop but won’t work on the desktop. Having yo hits a Tech is expensive for me. I’m a 78 year old disabled widow. Too bad Butter has NO SUPPORT to help me. BTW, I also tried the app on my iPhone 11. The video kept buffering and then came on only to totally freeze. I rebooted 3 times and the same thing kept happening. So I was never able to get into my meeting either through the Butter App or through the desktop. I do not trust Butter. It has altered my desktop which has caused my computer to crash and now Im incurring additional expenses because of it. Again I would not recommend using this app for anything.

It would be HUGELY helpful if the app worked better on iPads, particularly being able to shift from portrait—> landscape mode. This seems like it would also be useful on iPhones. For a video call-type interface, this is pretty essential.

Better than Zoom! I use this app daily and it works great. You must have a strong connection to your wifi or mobile network to have the best video experience possible, can sound glitchy as most video meetings do. I haven’t had any issues with the mobile and desktop apps to report either. It’s important to keep your devices updated so that any apps you install all work as intended, Butter is very good about their updates. I will continue to use Butter over Zoom!
