SMARTSHIFT
SmartShift is a circadian lighting system that matches the natural patterns of daylight and helps our bodies get back in sync with the sun. When enabled, it automatically tunes the color and intensity of lamps and fixtures throughout the day, mimicking the sun's changing light as it rises and sets. We’ve already created some SmartShift Presets for you in the app or create your own for customizable control.
SPECIALTY
Lightcloud Blue offers unique embedded features such as At-Home and Emergency Mode. At-Home creates the appearance that the space is occupied, by automatically scheduling lamps and fixtures to randomly turn on, dim, and turn off throughout the day. Emergency Mode serves as a visual notification that, when enabled, will randomly flash the lights to deter trespassers or signal there is an emergency.

I use this app with my lighting system in my yoga studio and for the first six months of my business it was working great! There are some clunky features, but once you learn them the app really did well. But in the past couple days here my phone is no longer syncing to my system. Luckily I have some programmed buttons on my wall, but the app has become rather useless since the most recent update.

It’s really cool you can use the app to control lots of fixtures. I’m on a commercial job for a big warehouse right now and we assumed we could just screw in the sensors and they’d be good to go, but we found out that we had to use an app to connect them. Let me tell you it has been difficult. I understand the circumstances of me being in a big metal building and having 200+ lights. It’s just kind of frustrating that i have to turn off sections of lights at the breaker so i can connect to a few at a time. The biggest problem i’m having right now is “updating firmware”. It seems the sensors don’t actually work with the settings you put on the app until each one of the lights has been updated on its firmware in the app. It’s been incredibly slow costing hours on the job. At one point i was falling asleep because it was taking too long for a section (20 lights) to all update. It took an hour for one section! I wish there was better support for connecting, like maybe have some limiter on the app so i don’t have to turn off whole sections just for one section. The instructions could always be clearer, maybe have someone in the electrical field actually test, experience, and report for better information on what to provide in the instructions.

I have used several competing products and RAB has by far the largest variety of fixtures with integrated controls, great price point, and a very robust app. There is a learning curve on the app but this system is the best I’ve used.
