ROVE Dash Cam connects directly to your dash cam over WiFi. Within about 10 meters of your dash cam, you can view the live feed, browse recordings, adjust settings, and install firmware updates over the air.
What you can do with the ROVE Dash Cam app
LIVE VIDEO — Watch your front, rear, and cabin channels in real time. Pinch to zoom up to 4×, switch channels with a tap, and flip into full-screen landscape for a bigger view. Toggle between Video and Photo modes on supported cameras.
DASH CAM VIDEOS — Browse recordings straight from the SD card with smart date grouping. Filter by type, channel, or date. Switch between List and Grid views. Bulk select to download, lock, or delete multiple clips at once.
LOCAL ALBUMS — Everything you save lives in your Photos library, so it survives iOS cleanups and syncs to iCloud. An iPhone Storage–style bar shows exactly how much space each camera is using, broken down into Videos, Events, and Photos.
GPS & TRIP DATA — Export routes as GPX, KML, or CSV to open in Google Earth, Strava, and other mapping tools. Speed, g-sensor, and bearing data are extracted from your recordings — useful for reviewing drives and sharing with insurance or authorities when needed.
CAMERA SETTINGS — Fine-tune resolution, recording mode, parking mode, and system settings from the comfort of your phone screen. Firmware updates are delivered over the air with full release notes.
ROVE SHOP — Browse and buy accessories, mounts, memory cards, and new ROVE products directly in the app.

Getting started
STEP 1 — Create your free ROVE Dash Cam account and sign in.
STEP 2 — Turn on the WiFi feature on your ROVE dash cam.
STEP 3 — Open the ROVE Dash Cam app, tap Add Dash Cam, and select your model. The app will detect your camera's WiFi and prompt you to join — tap Join on the system prompt that appears. (If the prompt doesn't appear, open Settings → WiFi and join your dash cam's network manually. The password is printed on the card included with your camera.)
STEP 4 — Open the ROVE Dash Cam app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your dash cam. You're ready to go.

I’ve had this camera for 3 years now and it’s still working perfectly. I live in a high temperature area where temperatures reach well over 100 degrees in the summer months and it’s never over heated or malfunctioned. The video quality is top tier indeed. The price made me think twice about buying it but once I bought it I began to understand why it cost so much. It captures 3 different angles at the same time all in 4K. So I would definitely recommend this product to anyone in the gig space doing Ride-Share because you have Front Camera- Rear Camera, and most importantly you have the Inside Camera for your protection. Awesome dash cam. Buy it.

I read these reviews, especially the negative ones, but I couldn’t agree with them. I nearly didn’t purchase this camera. I’ve since bought a second one for our secondary vehicle. As a retired police officer, video evidence is everything in today’s, not so truthful, world. I had no problems with this app on my IPhone, either getting videos from the camera, or accessing the camera itself for the ease of adjusting the multiple functions that are available. All the functions come with a little paragraph explaining what the function does, and what the options are. The most important point is you MUST BE in CLOSE PROXIMITY to the camera and the phone for the phone to access the camera. IT IS NOT a WIFI unit, but only uses the WIFI function to gain access to the camera, via the IPhone. It even reads just below the ROVE 2-4K Dual name “No Internet Connection” in red letters. This is normal, and explained in the very informative manual. I walked around my vehicle to Live View my camera angles after installation, and I never lost connectivity. I would suggest to temporarily deactivate the Auto Connect feature on your vehicle’s WIFI and any Air Play, etc, as these have an over-riding tendency, and will close the Rove App. I used the 3 minute video segment feature as opposed to the longer time frame options because they were quicker to download to the phone, and easier to Share, via Text Messenger, with anyone. This will come in handy when your camera captures an important event you may want to share with law enforcement, attorneys, insurance companies, etc. The only difficulty I had was downloading the Videolan App suggested by the manufacturer to be able to play videos on your PC. I was never able to get it to download, but not a game changer as I use the video directly from my camera and play them with no problems on my TV’s Air Play feature. Nice clear pictures. The downloaded videos are placed in your Photo library under their own sub-folders titled “Front” and “Rear”, and are titled with the applicable date/time stamp. Customer Service is impeccable and timely. I had one issue with the downloading, not realizing I had inadvertently selected Not Full Access. Once I followed their timely directions (contacted me in email within hours), Allow Full Access to your photo library, I had no more issues.

Wanted to wait until I had it long enough to give a good review. I have the dual cams back and front dash. Gives the accurate gps locations. Times are a minute or so off but no biggie. I’d say make sure your windows are clean before installing. Made the mistake of a dirty back windshield and the burrs were horrible. If driving in the rain just have the defog on you’ll get a lot camera. Definitely recommend. For reference I ended a situation and the dash cams have enough for me to take my life back. No more leaving the house terrified!!
Used to be OK; no more - terrible “update” privacy-wise

It used to be an OK app: it was mostly duplicating the dashcam’s internal settings menu, but was kinda more convenient on the phone screen (operating over dashcam’s own WiFi network/connection) - but now, after a mandatory “update”, you cannot get to anything any longer till you create an account with Rove (they named it “improved login”) and you cannot get into your own camera settings - or recordings - WITHOUT REGISTERING with this Chinese enterprise!!Thankfully, the “pull the flash card out and open files on the computer” way still works … (I wonder now, for how much longer it will be allowed).Coincidentally, just got the second Rove camera couple days ago - seriously debating myself if I should return it now and get something else…
