This is a great eSIM app when you’re traveling anywhere. About a year ago I happened to travel to Europe and I didn’t want to pay the outrageous prices my carrier offered me so oddly enough I came across Holafly. I happily paid the $40USD for 12 days I believe and got unlimited data which was easily accessible and didn’t actually start until my plane landed in the UK. I never once had a hiccup or dead zone anywhere. I traveled through UK, France and Spain from the beaches and to mountains and never once got laggy or slow data speeds. I was still able to stay in touch with friends and family on my trip and I greatly appreciate Holafly for making it possible. Needless to say that some of my family members and friends who came along with me were actually kind of jealous that I was getting better service than their carrier provided and I found that to be quite hilarious. Thanks Holafly and I will seriously considering using you guys for my next international trip!TLDR: Cheap, Quick & Unlimited data = Holafly
False Promises and Frustrating Experiences

I would strongly advise against using Holafly, based on my frustrating experience. I had purchased a Holafly eSIM for myself and my family for a trip to Japan, primarily because at the time of purchase, their website claimed to use Docomo's network and offered unlimited data. Despite these enticing promises, our actual experience was far from satisfactory. During our travel across various parts of Japan, we were unable to connect to the Docomo network at any point. Even when I manually attempted to select Docomo, my phone would show 'no service'. Instead, my device defaulted to networks such as au/KDDI or SoftBank. With a consistently high ping and slow speed, even simple tasks like browsing websites became a challenge, if not impossible. When I reached out to Holafly's customer service via WhatsApp to inquire about the inconsistent network access, I was met with a less-than-helpful response. The representative seemed dismissive when I questioned why we were unable to connect to Docomo, despite their advertisements. Their response was to question why I would have a problem using KDDI or SoftBank instead. This experience felt like a clear case of false advertising by Holafly, as the product did not deliver as advertised at the time. The networks we were connected to, KDDI and SoftBank, were so deprioritized that it seriously impeded our user experience. My experience with Holafly was deeply disappointing. I would caution future potential customers to consider other options.

Holafly offers a competitive price point for its eSIM services, making it an appealing option for travelers who want to stay connected without the hassle of physical SIM cards. I decided to give Holafly a try and purchased a 5-day eSIM plan for use in the United States on my iPad Pro 5G. Initially, the eSIM worked seamlessly once activated, providing a strong and reliable connection. However, a few hours later, I began experiencing intermittent connectivity issues that disrupted my usage. While the affordability of the service is commendable, the reliability of its network performance left much to be desired.One aspect of Holafly that I found inconvenient was its built-in VPN, which cannot be turned off. This feature seemed to complicate connectivity rather than enhance it, particularly when attempting to use the mobile hotspot feature. Devices connected to the hotspot struggled with extremely slow internet speeds, taking hours to load a single page. This limitation made the hotspot function practically unusable, undermining one of the primary reasons I chose the service. Although Holafly’s pricing and initial performance were promising, the ongoing connectivity issues and technical limitations significantly diminished the overall experience.

Broken heart babe
On a flight from Barcelona to Chicago (after my boyfriend dumped me just hours before), I realized I forgot my normal US SIM I use for my USA visits. That’s when I saw an advertisement for holafly on the airline tv. Perfect, I thought. Well, it wasn’t perfect. Once I arrived, I sat there for an hour trying different ways to activate it with airport WiFi. (Has your team tested this with airport WiFi, by the way?) nothing worked!! The codes didn’t work and I kept hitting error walls. Nobody from holafly answered my WhatsApp messages either. Also note, I’m a tech savvy person who is capable of installing an e-sim. I really needed the data to get myself on the train and downtown to meet my friend for dinner (you can imagine how important meeting a friend was because of the aforementioned personal issue). I ended up crying in the airport from pure frustration (feeling rejected and not sleeping surely didn’t help this situation). Thankfully my friend is a Saint and insisted on driving the two hours required to pick me up, and drive back downtown. Perhaps your team could look into this issue and improve the holafly installation experience? I’m happy to help provide any feedback.
