Image data can be transferred to Mobile MIM using MIMcloud or MIM 5.1+ workstation software. MIMcloud is a secure, internet-based medical imaging service that provides a central, easily accessible resource for storing, sharing, and viewing. Mobile MIM downloads data using encrypted transfer over the wireless network. The user may set a passcode that encrypts the non-image information for the downloaded data and prevents unauthorized access.

This app is a powerful tool considering it's being demonstrated on a phone. Keep in mind this is only a demo and if you ever needed these medical services this is certainly a breakthrow in medical imagery for doctor and patient. So it's not useless just because you don't need it. One more thing though, is it me or is it really a fact that the view icon in the bottom left corner on this app not match the brain image front, side, and top view?

This application does exactly what it is intended to do and it does it well. It is an ADJUNCT to MIMvista's excellent high-end diagnostic-quality software for reading FUSION modalities (e.g., PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and PET/MR). It is a highly specialized item designed to facilitate the convenient distribution by nuclear medicine/radiology specialists of representative, but non-diagnostic quality, images of FUSION modalities to referring physicians and patients. It is not intended to be a general DICOM reader for non-fusion modalities, not a stand-alone diagnostic quality reader, not a self-instruction tool, and not a toy to amuse those idle or cranky. Kudos to MIMvista for this excellent useful adjunct. We look forward to their native Mac OSX dedicated diagnostic-quality FUSION reader.
