InerTrak for iPhone and iPad, based on the award-winning desktop InerTrak, is a time-tracking tool for designers, contract workers, lawyers, or anyone who works on multiple projects on an hourly basis. It automatically keeps track of the time you spend on different projects thorughout the day; all you do is click to start and stop the timer.
The iPad version makes full use of the large screen.
You can create a list of clients, each with an optional hourly rate.
Each project is associated with a client, and includes an hourly rate (either set automatically from the client's rate, or set individually) which is used to automatically calculate the monetary value of time worked.
A detail view of each project shows the daily totals of both time and money, with the ability to check off days as they are billed. Dates are automatically added when you start the timer, but can also be manually added, if necessary. Time values can be edited, if needed.
Projects can be marked as completed and optionally sorted to the end of the list to get completed projects out of the way of active projects.
A summary view shows the totals of each project -- the total time and money, billed time and money, and unbilled time and money. You can see a summary for any desired time period.
Time values can be displayed in a variety of formats: hours minutes and seconds; hours and tenths of an hour; hours and sixths of an hour; hours and quarters of an hour; even hours and hundredths of an hour.
You can create an email message containing the InerTrak data in CSV format. Send it to yourself and then, on your computer, copy and paste the data into Excel or any program that understands CSV format.
You can add a note or comment to any date.
The currency symbol can be customized to any one or two characters that you want.
InerTrak for iPhone and iPad is fully integrated with InerTrak for the desktop. You can use InerTrak on your iPhone to keep track of time worked in the field or when away from your desk. Then, with a couple of button clicks, copy that data to the desktop InerTrak and take advantage of more advanced reporting capabilities, print timecards or invoices, etc.
Important: Data synchronizing requires a wireless network accessible by both your iPhone/iPad and your desktop/laptop computer running InerTrak (version 3.4 or higher).
If you don't have the desktop InerTrak, you can try it free for 30 days. Download it from www.inertron.com/inertrak.
What InerTrak does NOT have:
o It has only two levels of terms, Client and Project. It does not allow you to further break down a Project into sub-projects or tasks.
o The granularity of time is a day; it keeps track of the total time that you spend on any Project on each day. It does NOT keep track of the individual times that you start and stop the timer throughout the day.
If you need either of the above features, then InerTrak is not the right product for you.
There is a detailed user's guide online at: www.inertron.com/mobile/inertrak. The user's guide describes all the features in InerTrak. If there is a feature or capability that you need that is not described there, InerTrak is probably not the right product for you. Feel free, however, to email us and request it; the best way for us to make the product better is to know what people think is missing.

Good program that is slowed by scrolling feature. Get rid of it and make data entry quicker.
No customer service, is this company out of business?

Can’t reach anyone to get help with INERTRON products. I’ve used their software for years and liked it, but now it’s not working and I can’t get help. I think the developer is no longer supporting these products, too bad.
Worth it! (updated with suggestion)

This application does exactly as promised: allows the user to easily create clients, create multiple projects within clients, and accurately keep track of time spent on a particular project. The timer stops and starts with a simple tap of the clock, and the timer continues to run even if you are using other applications on the iPhone. As for no free trial, I was a little hesitant as well, but this is a reputable company that has time tracking software for both PC and Macintosh platforms. There are 30-day free trials there, so give those a go to see how they work. The iPhone app is not much different. I'm glad I made the purchase and will definitely continue to use this application. Well done!UPDATE: I continue to be extremely pleased with the functionality of this application. I have one suggestion though. When keeping track of time in anything but hours/minutes/seconds, it would still be useful to see the hours/minutes/seconds breakdown. Occasionally, I may forget to start/stop a timer, and it would be useful to be able to turn it back by a specific number of minutes, but this isn't possible to do accurately if the time tracking is maintained in a different format without switching it to back to hours/minutes/seconds first.
Clean and good support from Programmer

First off, you'll notice that all of the "bad" reviews come from people who didn't even try the software. And as said before... if you have a job where you need to keep track of billable hours from multiple clients with multiple projects, then you have no place giving negative feedback to a piece of software that's $20. Keep in mind most self employed individuals own software like quickbooks that start at $199That being said. This software does exactly what I need it to do. very simple 1 click start/stop that tallies all of the hours for a single day. by the end of the week I can see all of my daily entries for each project. If I missed a day, or forgot to start the timer when I started, I can go back and edit or add an entry. You have the ability to check off which entries you have or have not billed for, and leave notes for each one. While it is possible to assign $ rates per client... feature that is not there but I wrote the develper asking about was the ability to give progressive rates. For example anything over 8 hours is billed at 1.5 the base rate. This would not be difficult to do manually since each day is still kept as a seperate entry (hence me not docking the app for it) But the other positive to this was the programmer gave an immediate response to my questions and a response to this feature request. He obviously did not give a definitive statement about the feature request as is the case with any software develpment, but none the less I was impressed that my questions where answered in just a few hours from my email being sent.Overall I'm very pleased with the product.
A few changes to better support the use case of Client as a Project container:
o Project List by Client now shows the Client total time
o Project Details now shows the total time
o Client List now shows the total time
o Summary List now includes an option for a compact view
o Summary List by Client now shows the Client total time
