Practice IV infusion math one step at a time: rate, bolus and dilution, with every unit shown. The calculator is free and unlimited, and Pro is a one-time purchase.
Master IV infusion calculations with a complete practice toolkit and hands-on verification practice. Built for nursing, pharmacy and medical students learning to work out medication doses step by step.
TWO-PERSON VERIFICATION
Practice the independent double-check that safe medication administration depends on. Show a rate calculation from a saved scenario as a QR code; your study partner scans it, independently works out their own value, and the app flags any discrepancy, right on their device. No account, no network, fully offline. Both devices need the same app version.
PRACTICE CALCULATOR
• Infusion Rate: convert a dose (mcg/kg/min, mg/hr and more) to a pump rate (mL/hr)
• Bolus Dose: calculate push volumes with weight-based support
• Dilution: prepare IV solutions from stock concentrations
• Bag Duration: every rate result shows how long the bag lasts and when it empties
Every calculation shows its work with step-by-step dimensional analysis, so you learn the process, not just the answer. There are no built-in medication dose limits: the app teaches rather than enforces.
100-MEDICATION REFERENCE
Study common concentrations for high-alert medications, including:
• Vasopressors (dopamine, norepinephrine, vasopressin)
• Anticoagulants (heparin, bivalirudin, argatroban)
• Sedatives (propofol, dexmedetomidine)
• Insulin
• Emergency drugs
TALL man lettering (DOPamine, DOBUTamine) and look-alike / sound-alike warnings help you recognize the naming safeguards used in practice. Each drug's information links to that drug's FDA labels on DailyMed; see Settings › Sources & References.
INFUSION MONITORING (PRO)
See a practice infusion come to life with Live Activities on your Lock Screen:
• Progress that empties like a real IV bag
• Time-remaining countdown
• Color-coded status
• Optional room labels for organizing practice cases
Home Screen widgets keep your practice infusions in view.
INTERACTIVE LEARNING (PRO)
120 dimensional-analysis practice problems across 6 categories, taught with a chain-building interface:
• Tap conversion factors into place and watch units cancel
• Check your answer and see the worked setup
• Beginner, intermediate and advanced problems
• Practice sessions of 3 to 20 problems
• Track accuracy by category, with focus areas and common mistakes
PRACTICE SCENARIOS
Build your own practice cases: save a drug, concentration, bag size, dose range and notes, star favorites, and load any case into the calculator with one tap.
PRIVACY & SAFETY
• FOR EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY
• No patient data, only your practice calculations
• Local-first design, works offline
• Requires iOS 18 or later

I have downloaded every infusion calculator available in the AppStore and this one disappoints. Meds cannot be added manually and I have found a couple incorrect dosages. While I do not agree with the previous post about killing patients as I believe every clinician should be verifying any automated calculation (or at least have an idea what the normal range should be), it is nonetheless concerning. For me, I will be sticking with "Infuse" as it allows me to add/edit/delete drugs, add routes of administration, categories and more. Well worth the small price increase for the added flexibility.
JUST IN TIME!

I just downloaded this gem, and just in time! A friend of mine volunteers with Medical Teams International, and to make a long story short. His small team to Haiti ran into a HUGE demand for services, in particular some OR procedures where drip-rates for many different body sizes and types were needed. It was stressful! I can't wait to show him my new GEM... not only a time saver but a life saver! I can't count how many times I have caught errors from my hand calculations... the accuracy and speed is it's best feature. Good looking, data entry is intuitive, and very easy to use. Thanks iAnesthesia! You guy's are producing some great products!
No issues if you do it right

I don't understand why so many negative reviews? I have been using this app for a while now and have not have any problems. It does give you a lot of flexibility to enter the dosages and concentrations on your own. I believe this is where people are making the mistake. Read the interface and plugged in the data correctly and you will have no issues.
Just needs a few fixes!
ILVTX
Found this app to be pretty useful as I work in various areas and do not get to deal as much with drips on a daily basis, so this helps when I work in ICU. Just a few things, though, the calcs for Dopamine really needs to be addressed. Also, on norepinephrine, Levophed is misspelled. I would also love to see the dose ranges (bolus & drips) for each med for adults. Not too much to ask for in a $2 app, is it? Fix those, and I'll give 5 stars!
Version 6.0.2 is a big practice update.
FEWER ROADBLOCKS WHILE YOU PRACTICE
• Practice calculations are no longer stopped by built-in example dose limits, which were never clinical guidance. In real care, always verify against the order.
• A scenario's saved maximum dose is now its practice ceiling: go above it and you'll see a teaching note.
• mg/min is now in the dose-unit picker.
• Pro: on the Infusions dashboard you can enter rate changes below 10 mL/hr.
A CLEARER RESULT SCREEN
• A new Bag Duration card shows how long the bag lasts, when it empties, and whether it covers your shift.
• Next steps sit above the card, Show Your Work lives inside the result card, and Clear moved to the toolbar.
• Pro: tap "Monitor this infusion" on the Bag Duration card to start a simulated countdown; the card tells you whether it's on your Lock Screen, or why not.
MORE PRECISE PRACTICE MATH
• Pump rates that land exactly on a rounding boundary now round correctly (1.005 mL/hr shows 1.01).
• Pump verification uses your confirmed container volume, even after you change it.
• Dose read-backs such as 0.2 now match a 0.2 target without an extra zero.
SCENARIO EDITOR
• Typing a drug name no longer closes the form, and search results always match what you typed.
• Tap Create with something missing and the editor takes you to the field and says what it needs.
• Your chosen dosing unit is saved; changing it asks whether to keep or clear the dose.
LEARN (PRO)
• The step counter no longer reads "Step 4 of 3", and the question counter stays below the navigation bar.
SOURCES
• New Sources & References in Settings and the Calculator's About screen; every drug sheet links to that drug's FDA labels.
KEYBOARD AND LARGER TEXT
• The Calculator's keyboard has previous and next buttons, and the field you're typing in stays above the keyboard.
• At the largest text sizes, the iPad About screen and the locked Pro screens fit without cutting text off.
PURCHASES AND FEEDBACK
• Bought Drug Infusion before it became free? You keep Pro automatically.
• Restore Purchase now checks with the App Store and tells you if nothing was found.
• Settings has a new Write a Review link.
GOOD TO KNOW
• Two-person QR verification needs both devices on the same app version, so ask your study partner to update too. A QR code starts from a saved scenario, because it carries the drug name.
• Wording now says "partner" instead of "colleague" and "Weight" instead of "Patient weight".
Drug Infusion is for education and practice only.
