Update: the latest version fixed the App Store link issue but the multiple banner ads are still overly aggressive. There is a regular banner ad at the bottom but another “pop-up” as that takes up the bottom right quadrant of the screen. I added a star (now 2 stars) for the App Store fix. Original: Great site but I no longer use it every day. Besides aggressive banner ads, the app tends to launch the App Store to link to advertised apps. Having to shut down the App Store every time I select an article got tiresome. Apple insider or iMore are much better apps.

Hello, we have terminated the third-party ad network that was serving those takeover ads (these are usually the result of rogue advertisers, not the ad network themselves). Please give the site another try as we've eliminated the issue. Also, if you can, please edit your review accordingly. Thank you!
Bad all around

This blog is arrogant and condescending. The authors and commentators hold strong political biases. The people at MacDailyNews are unprofessional. Just skip their nonsense and go right to the sources. These people almost never have original content anyway. All they are doing is watching the Apple-related stories from other more professional and prominent blogs and reposting the same story with their annotation at the bottom. Most of the time their annotations are just ridiculously over-the-top and unprofessional. Skip their garbage and subscribe to the real publishers. MDN are plagiarizes standing on the shoulders of real journalists.Beyond the problems with the blog, the app itself has several technical issues. Notifications stopped working a couple of major iOS releases ago. The ads take over your screen and often redirect you to malware sites. They don’t care one bit because they would prefer you use their websites where they get more money from their ads, and haven’t ever bothered to keep their iOS app updated to use new features or even work whatsoever even though they slam others for not keeping up with the latest from Apple.I was tolerating the nonsense for a long time until more recently when they amped up their political posts in support of oppressive and disrespectful governmental policies. It’s time to move on from MDN if you want to take your Apple news seriously.
Agree that redirects to AppStore are bad

November 2020 update: The app continues to pop up a message about how bad things are, and it does it for every article. Unfortunately, the developer hasn’t learned, and it is time to uninstall the application. Instead of whining about how bad advertising rates are, how about building a subscription model into the application? $0.99/month or $9/year and it gets rid of all of the ads. While it doesn’t have the progressive, wokeness of so much of Big Tech, I’m tired of seeing the same old “sky is falling” message on every article I click on.April 2020 update: The app now pops up a message that advertising rates are bad and to please support them. I don’t mind a pop up for the first article that I click on until the next time that I open up the app, but it is repeated over and over for each new article that I click on. For that reason, I’m dropping my ranking from 5 stars to 2 stars. I’m sorry they’re having difficulty but popping up the same message over and over again is not the way to solve the problem.I am pleased to say that I can raise my ranking to 5 stars from the previous 3 stars. The reason? The ads are much improved and no longer have their obnoxious behavior. Old version of the review; no longer applicable:I am finally coming to the conclusion after constantly being sent into the AppStore while trying to read articles that it is time to uninstall and use a browser like Blaze to read MacDailyNews. Like others, I might be willing to pay $1.99 to remove ads. I abhor the switch to the AppStore. If I can be assured that it has been corrected, I will reload it.

Good App - Gathers News From All Over!

I don’t understand why all the bad reviews.... I LIKE THIS APP! I have used it for a few years & like the way it gathers Mac OS news, iOS news, Apple Corp., new apps, hardware, software, patents, etc. from all over the web. You can glance at this and see the headlines and then go to a short summary of the news or the original article. You can really keep up with Apple and all related news at one easy to get to location. The app usually works flawlessly and that’s all you really want from an app, consistent performance! Sure there’s advertisement, but they’re trying to eat too, right? So like I said, it’s well worth it to me! Try it!
