I've played chess for fifty years. Not very well I'm afraid. I've played classic boards, automated boards and app boards. App boards are by far my favorite. So convenient and versatile! This app is my favorite. First, I like the way it "plays". I'm actually slowly becoming a better player! For me the board is intuitive to use and helpful. The many boards and pieces to choose from is a nice touch. I also sometimes save games to play later. The menu bars cover everything I ever want to do and the fonts are very nicely done. The best chess board I have ever owned! Period.

For someone that loves the game (but hasn’t played in years) this is a near ideal match. It can play at quite an easy level for when you are rusty but, as you get better, it will give you a run for your money. The free app is nice but the paid (one time) is well worth it! Many nice features! You spend more on coffee during a work day. 😉 Highly recommended. The Gingko upgrade is the 2026 World Champion. Well worth the money, especially since current cognitive research indicates that Chess is one of the best things for cognitive health!

I’ve only played a few games, however I like the concept of how the system works. As you work on achieving your rating, it plays you at your level and will let you win (so far), however it really makes you think. It’ll make a few stupid moves and then return with some brilliant moves. I’m sure it’ll play a lot smarter as you advance in your rating. It’s a fun game to play and very educational. Well worth the few bucks I paid for it. So far, no problems or hiccups playing it on my IPad.

One function that missing is to have manual setting up the board with pieces and then playing with the app. This would help to play chess puzzle or analyzing specific games.Also I am not getting the option on the app to have all the moves listed. It would enable to go back to any move during the play instead of using the back arrows. Use your have that before but it’s disappeared.

Hello, you can use Setup the board or go to an exact point in history from the main menu. We never usually remove a feature but we sometimes move them to the menus. Would you prefer to have the old button? We will see if we can put it back.
