Indespensible

I have been usimg this App since it was first released. I find it indespensible in identifyig devices connected to my network. When I have a problem, the first place I look is at the scan of my network to see if a device is not responding. The ping feature has helped mw many time to identify a device that has been unplugged is offline when I do not expect it to be or is havong a connectoin problem. It is quick, I can name devices for easier identificstion and it has never crashed on me. Not once, which is more than I can say for many other Apps. I really do find it indespensible. I hope the developers continue to keep it up to date as MacOS continues to evolve.

I Agree ... Indispensible

When trying to think of what I might say that woiuld capture my experience with this App, I happened to glance at another review title: Indispensible. It sums up in a word my feelings about IP Scanner Pro. I'm not trained in networking beyond stuff I've just picked up along the way. It's not something I use professionally at all. But, I find I'm constantly using it to troubleshoot problems with my network. It's easy to use and has helped me out countless times. Highly recommended.

Few bugs; tech support inexistent!!

I would give this five stars but tech support is inexistant. Writing to the dev team is like writing to nobody, I never got an answer whatsoever. In terms of the app itself, bear in mind that device names do not sync via iCloud, so if you plan in installing it in more than one machine forget about it. App sometimes is buggy in the sense that it does not recognize all devices in the first scan - you will need to scan the network two to three times to make sure you have a full picture. Also, custom names do not appear at once, again you will need to scan the network two to three times before the app can display devices with their custom names. Finally, it keep crashing and becomes slow and unresponsive on macOS 13.5. This app used to work well before versions changed and macOS evolved.

Extremely sorry you had this experience. We are not sure why your emails didn't get answered as we monitor religiously and we actually pride ourselves in handling tech support personally, NOT using AI bots as many have started to deploy.

With the move to MacOS 13.5.x, underlying changes to the operating system did lead to issues with iCloud sync and responsiveness under heavy loads (such as initial scans with many dns lookups and port scans), that we believe have been solved in IP Scanner versions 5.14 and above.
