I have used this app for years even from using the desktop version; however, it needs an update, old interface very outdated.. not only that, I lunch the app and I had over 1,000 movies on my list and the app crashed, I re-open it and my entire collection was gone. I am using iPhone 14 Pro Max, but seriously, this app needs a serious update date. I have been looking for other apps to switch this one out since it’s so outdated. I really don’t want to switch this app for another one, but if it doesn’t get a make over/updated, I am out. Even the desktop version is outdated…
Works, but can be improved

Generally, I like the app and what it aims to do. I am able to add titles to a list and use that list to make sure I don’t buy the same title twice. Unfortunately, I have stopped trusting it to accurately reflect what I have in my collection. Only after I cross check my collection with the app will my confidence change.—At least once when I was adding titles to my collection, I noticed that the app had jumped to an earlier collection number that had previously been assigned. Hopefully that problem has been fixed with an update. —Even with Nesting off, I still have to add separate entries for box set contents for them to show up on the alphabetical list.—Details for most American tv series are good and include sequential episode lists. Series from other countries usually don’t seem to have as much info, based on what I’ve seen in my collection. Also, some box sets do not list what films it has included in the set.—Most of my exercise DVDs are not found by barcode, so I either have to do a title search or make a custom entry. Custom entries may include title, barcode and country. No cover photo.—Recently my batch scans by barcode create a “Similar titles owned” banner in the top of each entry. If I add it to the collection from the item screen, the banner disappears. Not sure for how long. Also, the collection entry number seems to change when I add it.—When you access Features, all you can tell is the type of features it has, not what the features are.—When I browse the collection (e.g., search for cast member, crew, etc.), except for single entry results what I can call up for more details is always less than the number of results that are claimed to be found in the search results. —I can never get the upload to match the download, but I am able to update titles added.
Latest iPhone makes the app unusable for scanning

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and the camera won’t focus on a barcode. Tried for a matter of minutes. Even putting your finger in front of the lens won’t make it switch to another lens.Grab my old iPhone 12 Pro and it can scan everything I toss in front of it in a second or two. Too bad sharing data between both phones is a full download/overwrite of the new phone. There isn’t anything extra on there to lose it’s just a painfully slow process of downloading everything when you only add a couple movies from the other device.I don’t really have any complaints other than losing my scanning ability on the new phone. I’m closing in on 4000 titles.
One of my favorite apps.

Great way to catalogue your movie collection. Allows me to rate movies and have rapid access to Metacritic and Rotten Tomato reviews. Search function is very good. I also use the customizable fields to identify within my house where my DVD’s are located. This is helpful if you have multiple family members. I wish they would have a desktop Mac version, but the PC/Windows version works great. The collection gets backed up online and I use my iPhone to add/modify as needed backup online then restore this database to all of my family’s devices periodically. I have entered over 2000’s movies without difficulty.
This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included.
Thanks for using DVD Profiler!
In this version, we've corrected an issue that prevented addition of custom entries, and fixed some issues specific to iPhone X support.
