This is an honest to god review...I’ve been using Meitu for probably almost two or three years now. It’s my favorite editing app and my immediate go-to for selfies and food pics before I put them online. With so many money-grabbing apps out there, Meitu is such a great app to use even without purchases. That being said, there are things Meitu doesn’t offer that other apps do. It’s not Photoshop, so you can’t be as precise as you want or use it necessarily as an “photo editing app” outside of making things aesthetically pleasing (no cutting and pasting or duplicating, no layers), but you can control the strength of effect filters and beauty filters that are so, so well done and really fun for me (especially since it’s Japanese-styled and I’m American!). I wish my photo quality could be higher without sharing, but I can’t be choosy with a free app. I know I read an article about Meitu nearly having its plug pulled about a few months ago so I’m happy to see it still updating with awesome effects and features every month. Long live Meitu!! 💕✨

Ok so I use it to edit videos and it’s usually fine but it hasn’t been letting me put in the clips. I try to put in a super short video and then it gives me a warning in a language I can’t read and the video doesn’t go into the thing. It’s like it’s trying to tell me that it’s too long of a video even if it’s like 15 seconds. Also, the other day when I tried to click on a draft of a video, it said that the draft had been damaged (a picture or video had been deleted) when it hasn’t, none of the videos were deleted. So I lost all my hard work for no reason. And even if something was deleted, you should still be able to click on it because you work so hard on something then one thing is deleted and you have to start all over. Also, it says that I have a lot of stuff downloaded but when I click to see what’s downloaded there is nothing there. It’s taking up all my storage yet there is nothing to delete. Usually I don’t have a hard time with this other than the lagging and the only being able to use a transition every other clip, but it’s fine. Also a suggestion would be to have a bar (like with the filters and transitions) to adjust the intensity of the affects. :)

I love this app and how easy it is to use !! there’s honestly so much variety and different makeup styles to choose from without relying too much on vip accessibility. I just like to experiment with them and see which best suits me. it’s so realistic too unlike other apps where it’s obvious there’s a filter on. you can edit your face, makeup, hair, skin, teeth, and body it’s just the perfect app to touch up any imperfections. I like how in the lipstick section you can choose what color of lipstick they have for you and if you want another shade you could pick one from the color wheel and choose yourself. there is something else that you could try like changing the texture and blend to it. it makes you look so pretty in the end! I just REALLY REALLY want new updates with video retouching because it seems like there’s less options. I want to edit my video the same way I edit my photos. it’d be really nice if you do that.

i know i know. reading a review on apps have a high likelihood that they will be bots or fake for one reason or another. i think everyone should take what i say with a grain of salt, because this app can have a great impact with body dysmorphia and should be avoided if you're someone who has issues with that.i fell in love with this app though. although there is a paid feature, you can still get a LOT out of it without having to pay. and even then, there is a free trial. be warned that once you see what you're missing it is IMPOSSIBLE to go back lol. i absolutely love the AI features. from the AI art to the smart board to the creativity section, they are so useful for much more than just selfies. i can make art. THE ERASE FEATURE IS GOATED!!! and i love all the options for makeup to filters and even the quality HD enhancer for your images. honestly i can't recommend this app enough. it's fantastic.
