See more in every passage with Greek and Hebrew word tools, interlinear views, maps, notes, and Go Deeper!—now with clearer Dark Mode and faster study pages. This is not a Bible reader. It is a study tool. Greek and Hebrew Study Bible (GHSB) brings Scripture reading, personal study, original-language tools, and biblical context together in one complete Bible-study app: the equivalent of a study Bible, a Strong's concordance, interlinears, a notebook, and a study guide, all in your pocket. Deep Study. Clear Truth. For a Life of Worship. You do not need to know Greek or Hebrew to begin. Read in translation, then go as deep as you like. READ AND STUDY • World English Bible and Chinese Union, with the Greek and Hebrew text • Layouts for translation, original language, parallel, and interlinear reading (columnar layout on tablets) • Tap a Greek or Hebrew word for its definition, grammar, Strong's information, and usage • Long-press English text to highlight, bookmark, add a note, view cross references, or open Go Deeper! • Advanced search to find a verse you had in mind or locate where a word occurs throughout Scripture GO DEEPER • People and places from Scripture, with maps for many locations • Chapter map in Bible Tools • Lexicon search and browse • Vocabulary lists with flashcards and testing to build your Greek and Hebrew • Reference library of commentaries, grammar guides, and study resources PRIVATE, AND WITH YOU EVERYWHERE YOU STUDY Your notes, highlights, bookmarks, and vocabulary progress sync across your own Apple devices through your own iCloud account, from your Mac at your desk to your iPhone in your pocket. GHSB never uploads your study data to a vendor server, and no one but you can see it. Works without a GHSB account. Core text and lexicon are available offline after install. Map tiles need a network connection. Lexicon and name data include material from STEP Bible (Tyndale House), Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. The same complete GHSB experience on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and available on other platforms too, each one designed to feel right at home. ## What's New in This Version (1,925/4,000 chars) This update continues the 7.02 study improvements and is ready for the latest iPhone, iPad, and Mac. APPEARANCE • Study panels stay easy to read in Dark Mode, with the scripture still visible around them. • Home and splash are clearer on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, so the version and destinations are easy to find. NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS • Delete notes and highlights directly from their respective lists. A confirmation prompt helps prevent accidental deletions. • Notes and highlights are now managed independently, so deleting one won't affect the other. • To remove a highlight from a verse, open Bible Tools. We've removed this option from the reader's long-press menu to keep the menu simpler. • Bible Tools keeps your place in Notes and Highlights as you work. • Tap a note in Bible Tools to open that verse and the note together. READING • Scripture pages open promptly, with interlinear text and tap-a-word language information ready for study. • Bookmark and note indicators now appear directly before the verse number and match its size, making them easier to spot as you read. • Add more space between verses by enabling Space Between Verses in Settings -> Display Layout. This option is available in both Full Page and Columnar layouts. • On iPad, the book and chapter picker remains available when GHSB is displayed in a smaller window, including Stage Manager and Split View. STUDY • Map pins now open Go Deeper! directly, replacing the previous information icon. • When you tap a Greek or Hebrew word, its Strong's number and KJV wording now appear directly below the Canonical Form. • Reference PDFs now open at a comfortable reading width, with the top of the page positioned for immediate reading. • Bible Tools Search lets you know when a search has no matches. • In Settings, What's New sits beside Quick Start, and the version and build appear at the bottom of the screen. Thank you for studying with GHSB.

I've had this since 2011. I use it often. It had some early problems, but the improvements have been good ones. I like being able to click on a Greek or Hebrew word and see not only the parsing, but a quick definition and a bit of etymology. Add to that the flashcards, commentary, and very reasonable price and it's a bargain.Update: the highlight feature still doesn't work and the last verse of Philemon is missing. Otherwise I still like it.

Why the Font change

I find the new font more difficult to use than the original. Could you restore the original font or give us the options to use one or the other.I like that some of the words (nouns & verbs) are parsed. Can I help to add parsing? I have had extensive training in the Biblical Languages.

I've used this app for years and have been 100% satisfied. I've had no problem With it by a lot of successes. I like how it offers quick access to words, definitions (exhaustive) by simple touch. Very easy to navigate. Complete dictionary at a touch. I appreciate the enormous amount of life and work the developer poured into this app, this useful tool. I'd give it six stars if I could.

simplicity is gone

the simplicity of looking up the origins and meanings of every word quickly is gone. UPDATE: I now have been notified that a correction is coming that questioned. Still no update that fixed the problem. No etymology of the word and the word itself is often the definition. duh

Developer Response
Thank you for being with GHSB from the beginning and for taking the time to tell us what wasn’t working for you. We listened. We have reorganized Word lookup so the familiar quick definitions and the newer, more detailed information are available together. The revision is already in testing and will be included in an upcoming update.Feedback like yours helps us make GHSB better. Thank you for speaking up—and for giving us the opportunity to respond.
