When the printing function for the paper was sourced to Houston, we would assured we could get the content in a timely manner by viewing the on-line version. That promise was hollow. What we get instead on line is the Express News-Light. Yes, you can see MOST of the headline stories, but even those are often lacking more recent details. Details in the area of high school sports are particularly sparse. If you are trying to get out of the hard copy paper business, say so, announce the transition schedule, and force the writers to populate the on-line version with the same details they eventually put into the print copy. I am an old-school reader, who subscribes to the paper because I read it…all of it. I don’t like the Readers Digest version because it selectively excludes the details. To say they are the same just is not true.Glenn Taplin, San Antonio
Staying Logged In
SIDWG
I am a long time subscriber to both paper and digital versions. Previously, the app (iOS) kept me logged in when I switched from article to article and sometimes it left me logged in for an extended period of time which was great. In the past two or three days, I have had to log in each time I click on a new story. It is incredibly frustrating!! Can this please be fixed? Supposedly, a new version was released a week ago with “bug fixes and performance improvements” but that is obviously not true. Your developers need to “fix” the problem that they created.
Digital paper doesn’t always work, right?

I am a subscriber to the ExpressNews. I’ve been for many years. We also read the paper online however, many times I try to open a story and get a message that I need to be a subscriber to read this article. Well, I am a subscriber. It asks me to sign in. This is very frustrating because an email was sent to me so that I could read the paper online then I’m asked to sign in to read an article. VERY FRUSTRATING.!
EXTREMELY PREDATORY SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

I am very mad about the SA Express News charging me for a “past due balance.” They also refused to send me an email confirming the cancellation of my subscription. They have you call a specific number for cancellations and they do NOT send you any proof of the cancellation. Unlike a normal subscription service where you can cancel a subscription on the app or website and get a confirmation cancellation email. I begged the rep to send any sort of confirmation and she refused. The rep said “we don’t send emails ever.” I signed up using an offer for the month and didn’t make the second month’s payment. What normally happens is you don’t have access to the service anymore. However, they started calling me and said I had to pay the overdue $10 balance. They refused to cancel my subscription until the “past due” was paid.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
