Everything runs so smoothly on my app. Idk why other people are having a hard time with the app honestly. The only thing I wish this app had is if you were to tap say on a planet, you can learn what we know about the planet. I love this app and find all the planets to say goodnight to them lol. I love the search feature and able to remove or add things I'm finding. I'm more interested in planets then I am of stars. Still I enjoy using this app when I'm in my room at night. It's easy on the eyes (except for ads) but it doesn't bother me much. I'd pay to learn more about planets for sure.

Has all the features I want except the ability to set the date and time and place that you want displayed. This is necessary to plan your star gazing events. As far as I can see, you can only display the current date and time and your current location (at least in the free version).

In the 1960s, First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson, headed a campaign to beautify America. Besides extensive plantings, she worked to curtail billboard clutter on the nation's highways. Well, we're now in the 21at century and we need another Lady Bird to crusade against apps with banner ads. They're especially unpleasant in astronomy apps where one wants to see the night sky in all its glory. Sky Map is one of the worst offenders. It puts billboards up in space! It's ugly, distracting, and undermines the view of the sky and the app itself. Unlike in many apps, the ads also persist even when one is off line. Really bad!If that weren't bad enough, it requires the user to have to press a "Start" button before it shows the sky. (What is this? Windows '98?! :-) )The interface--side toolbar--isn't half bad, but the icons are obscure and the app seems limited. (No horizon?)Glad to see the Messier objects are included and the color scheme isn't half bad, although it's ruined by the glaring, blinding, bright-white ads splayed across the bottom of the not-so-dark sky!One star only!

What exactly is this thing showing? Everything about it is wayyyy off. 1- i think it should come w tips because i'm sure it needs a few settings in your phone turned on. When i get an iphone i turn a lot off. 2- i tried deleting the app and downloading it again because the 1st time i didnt give it location access. But that didnt matter it was still way off. Weird thing, it works fine on my friend's phone. Hes the one that recommended it. We pointed our apps at the same thing and even he admitted mines was way off the 1st n 2nd try (with & without location access). By the way- i also tried turning on compass and compass calibration settings hoping that made a dif but it did not.
