House of the Lost is a top-down action roguelike dungeon crawler built for players who grew up clearing rooms, dodging traps, and learning from every death. Each run is a new house, a new build, and a new chance to get a little further before the House gets you.
Free to try, and only one purchase to own. Play the first two levels and take down the first boss without spending a cent; then a single unlock opens the rest of the House. No ads, no gacha, no energy timers. Ever.
RANDOM LEVELS
No two runs are the same. Layouts, enemies, and challenges reshuffle every time you play, and the House tests you at every turn.
WEAPON CRAFTING
Survival takes firepower. Combine the weapons and items you find to craft crazy new tools of destruction, and discover combinations that turn a doomed run into a legendary one.
EPIC BOSS BATTLES
The zombies and monsters that haunt these halls are deadly enough, but nothing can prepare you for what's waiting at the end of each floor.
FOUR ENVIRONMENTS
Four distinct environments hide within the House, each with its own enemies, its own challenges, and its own boss to face.
SECRETS GALORE
Walk through walls, track down clues, and unlock the secrets of the House. It may be your only chance at survival.
PLAY OFFLINE
No connection required. The House is always open, on a plane, on the train, or in the dark.
LEADERBOARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Race the clock and chase high scores, or hunt down every achievement the House has to offer.
ONE PRICE, THE WHOLE HOUSE
The free download includes the first two levels and the first boss, playable as many times as you like. One purchase unlocks everything else; every floor, every weapon, every secret. No subscriptions, no ads, no in-app currency.
Only one question remains: Do you have what it takes to conquer the House of the Lost?
This game stole every concept from the binding off Isaac from the hidden rooms to the mobs. The binding of Isaac was an original idea that could not easily be topped by a game with the same concepts. The producer of this game is self promoting on Isaac Forums, and as an Isaac fan I am offended. The art it terrible and the game is very glitchy. I have found tons of exploits and the game is far to easy. If it ain't broke, don't fix it... Isaac is NOT broken!
It has potential
benissimus
As a Binding of Isaac player, I was very excited to learn that something similar was available on iOS, since the developers of that game have no intention of porting it. I really hope that this app is successful, but in my opinion there are some serious problems with the controls. Unlike with BoI, you can only shoot in the direction you are currently facing. In order to face in a given direction, you have to move at least a little in that direction. So, to aim at a monster, you have to move towards it at least a little bit, which is just the opposite of what you want to do. Meanwhile, the monster is also moving towards you, closing the distance very quickly, so you really have to be on the other side of a room for this to be safe. To make matters worse, some of the monsters shoot at you, so you have to dodge, which means you will then have to gain some distance and go through this arduous aiming process again. And unlike your character, the monsters can turn and shoot on a dime. Because of this, I found most of my time was spent dodging rather than shooting, and I was still getting hit a lot anyways. It was a lot better when I used my joystick, but still pretty awful. Now, I'm sure this would become easier as I practice more, but this is just not a fun mechanic. I can only assume the developers felt the need to distinguish this game a bit more from BoI, but they shouldn't have mucked with the controls. It needs to be a dual-stick shooter! I will probably buy the full version and recommend it if this gets changed, but I haven't even seen all the content in the free version due to the aforementioned difficulties.Positives: the art style is good. I also like that the monsters do friendly fire (including status-effect attacks). I was a little unclear about the difference between certain weapons, like the wooden sword and wooden bat, but that's ok. Seems to be a good variety of weapons, at least on the first floor that I have seen.
Binding of Isaac
Nobody with no power
This game is pretty much a rip off of the binding of Isaac. That is a good thing!! Though it doesn't have as much content, it have some neat little features that make it nice. It also has its own lore. A few bugs and weirdness her and there(you can skateboard through walls). I like it.
this game is crap
icedfate
never mind its an obvious ripoff of binding of isaac without the twisted creepiness that made that game so endearing.i actually think its a good try which is why it gets 2 starsbut the controls are HORRIBLE! its impossible to shoot and dodge with sticky unresponsive controls.the regular shooting works but the directional movements are so slow and the fact you have to stop and point your character towards the enemy...you can't strafe or move backwards and shoot.if i turn d-pad shooting on, the buttons are so tiny, half the time i shoot the wrong way another quarter of the time it doesn't shoot at all.doesn't apple have any quality control?! how do these crappy games keep getting into the app store?
The House is open again.
After seven years away, House of the Lost is back! Revived for modern iPhones and iPads. Everything you remember survived the renovation: random levels every run, weapon crafting, four haunted environments, and the bosses waiting at the end of each floor. If you never made it through the House the first time don't worry, it remembers you.
New here? House of the Lost is a top-down action roguelike. Play the first two levels and the first boss for free, then one purchase unlocks everything else. No ads, no gacha, and no energy timers.
Welcome back. We'd say make yourself at home, but the House has other plans for you.
