The Army Leader Book iPhone app helps leaders take better care of their Soldiers. It's developed by a former NCO and software engineer, for use by junior officers and non-commissioned officers (NCOs). It organizes your Soldier data and provides key references to help you perform leadership duties more efficiently. It’s your digital “green book.”
The app developer served 21 years in the Army Reserve (9 years as an NCO, 8 years as an officer), including four deployments.
This app is a free download and can be upgraded for a small fee to manage more than four soldiers. The free version lets you try out all the features risk-free before committing.
This app will help you:
* Track your Soldiers' data, including counseling dates, ACFT/APFT scores, medical profiles, vehicle licensing, weapon qualifications, etc., as well as birthdays and anniversaries.
* Export your Soldier data via PDF to put into your hardcopy binder.
* Stay on top of key events such as upcoming evaluations due, ETS, schools, etc..
* Keep track of vehicle licensing and weapons qualifications.
* Organize your Soldier data with reports such as APFTs and upcoming evaluations.
* Take care of Soldiers with key references now available in your hip pocket, such as FM excerpts for counseling Soldiers, the suicide prevention ACE card, treatment for heat casualties, confidential helpline number for sexual assault victims, and more.
This app requires no Internet access for most features so it's functional even in the field or deployed.
Note that this app requires an in-app purchase to unlock the app to manage more than four Soldiers. The References section is free, regardless!
I just downloaded the app and instructed my SQD LDRS to do the same and give me their take on the app.One feature I think would be helpful as a platoon or even company level would be to have a way of letting individual Soldiers upload their basic information on the app and then transferring/updating their data on the app and have it update real time between company level. Also if a Soldier was to move between squads or platoons the Soldiers info could be sent over easily between PSG/SQD LDRS instead of having to re-create an entirely new data page. With Soldiers moving, change in family status, job/school changes, phone numbers changing etc it would be more proactive and allows Soldiers that ability to stay up to date.I’m still looking over the app and if this feature is available please direct me to the tutorial. Thanks
Upload docs
Dad James
Showed this to my 1sg and he said it’s great but he asked me can I put my guys SGLV, MEDPRO, LES in there as well. Next Update: Ability to upload docs via email. Pretty much a folder for each person on the roster that can hold PDF files like what I said up top. I would pay 5$ for that upgrade cause too many times I’ve been in a PSG meeting with 1sg and he needs some info on a solider. Be amazing if I could keep the counseling packet on my phone. My CSM loves when people have this app. Clean and organized!

This is a great app. This app just needs to make it to where the app’s information can transfers from one device to another. I have this app on my phone and iPad. I do most of in inputs on my IPad. But the info does not transfer to my phone. I must manually input info on both. This can be resolved through sign in accounts. Also alwaying for uploading PDF counselings.
Great app but could it do more?

So first let me say this app is great and is a must have for any Service Member. This app has saved me so much time it’s crazy. There are a few things though I would like to see as improvements to make the app better.1. Separate BASD and BESD dates. Not everyone’s BASD/BESD dates match. We see this amongst Reservist that get activated and deploy.2. Upload specific documents. Obviously don’t need all of IPERMS at a persons disposal. But being able to upload the SM’s PT card, Weapons card, Military Diver’s License, ICRs, NCOERs (enough to hold 5), ERB/SRB/ARB, all the Required Annual Training certificates (which I think there’s like 15) and then maybe allow for 10 miscellaneous documents that are just general use and not connected to a SMs profile would be great.3. Add lines to medical for us to put in Last and Next dates for PHA and Dental. Accessing MEDPROS is a pain. Honestly what we all need is to know when a SM last went to an appointment and when are they due next. Also if we can say they are Red because they are either overdue or they are coded MRC/DRC 3/4 would be helpful.4. A place to add ASVAB scores under Admin data.5. A list of commonly used regulations and links to access them in APD.6. An award and decoration tracker that also has a link to the EZ Rack builder website. Like a very minimalist award tracker where you can select the name of the award, the stuff that goes on it, the dates it was earned, and be able to add remarks if necessary like award numbers (PO#). Then once you are done you can click a link to go to EZ Rack builder so SMs can order new ribbon racks and other things for their ASUs or their P&Gs. A link to the Marlow and White website would also be nice so SMs can go there as well to get other items.7. Be able to add a photo to the Soldiers profile. While a DA photo would be best, some Soldiers are not required to have one. But being able add a profile picture would be nice so it’s easier to remember who is who when you have larger groups. While I understand these may be a tall order to fill, I think most would pay $10 for an app that did all this plus what it currently does. Regardless though this app is a must have.
Updated ACFT to change the Leg Tuck (LTK) to Plank (PLK). Sorry for the delay folks!
