This is the official Warhammer 40,000 app, an invaluable toolbox of support for planning armies and playing battles of the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop miniatures game.
It includes the full Core Rules, along with key supporting info like rules commentary and tournament companions, that all can be searched and referenced quickly and easily.
This app is the easiest way to plan your Warhammer 40,000 army, always up to date with the latest points and rules in the Battle Forge.
Using codes in your army’s codex, you can unlock all the datasheets, detachments, stratagems and enhancements for your chosen army.
And with the new War Journal feature, you can now track the score of your Warhammer 40,000 games as you play.
In addition, the full rules for playing Warhammer 40,000 combat patrol, along with the datasheets for every combat patrol unit, are included in this app for free.
Features:
- The core rules for the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop miniatures game
- Plan your army list with Battle Forge
- Unlock your army’s rules with the code found in your Codex
- Track your Warhammer 40,000 battles in the War Journal
- Sync your War Journal with your opponent to see the stats of every unit in the battle

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. This app helps you wage it.

The app itself is solid and well thought out. I also appreciate the continual addition of features by the dev team (like command bunker).Where I do have an issue is the pricing and the value proposition over time. I don’t have an issue with GW charging for this app. It takes money to pay a team to manage/develop it, I get that. The problem is that unless you buy every codex that comes out, over time the value you are getting for your money that you spent on the app gets lower and lower. When I first bought the app, I paid $60 and had access to all faction data. I now have access to 4 less factions, and that number will continue to grow over time. By the end of the edition, I will have access to only one faction (the one I play), and will likely have paid the same price at renewal for the app. It just feels bad as a customer to get less and less over time for what you paid for. In my opinion, the release of content on WarhammerTV does not make up for this, mostly because it’s so infrequent. That being said, I would strongly suggest GW rethink what or how they charge for this app. I think the cost for a yearly subscription should be at least halved, to account for the diminishing value over time. Either that, or rethink how the codex paywall is handled/priced. Allowing to one to pay a nominal fee to access codex info for factions in the app would be a good start.
Missing units
AnotherLegendsUser
I enjoy using the app but it shoots itself in the foot by not including legends units which are free, easy to find online, and allow for smaller armies to feel far more complete. The new Emperor’s Children range has 22 datasheets, 17 if you don’t count daemons who are only usable in 1 of 6 detachments. There are space marine offshoots with more playable units, this leaves them with the glaring hole of no mainline battle tank. A hole that can be filled if the app included legends units and the rules team go back and fix it so Emperor’s Children run the Horus Heresy Legiones Astartes units. This is not entirely the app team’s fault but preventing users from using items that exist for free online officially made by the company is baffling. I hope they fix mistake before the new edition launches and bring this lesson into the next edition. This app is meant to consolidate your list into one place and calculate points for you, by missing legends units it requires me to still flip between the app and other tabs while also forcing me to make my own lists still. Legends are important and I hope they are added in soon.
Great app, baited and switched,

I paid for this app to have list building convenience and access to faction rules and data cards, I was sold as you gain access to all factions and as 10th is progressing it seems this is not true and falsely advertised. Why am I paying for the app of o have to buy every codex or data cards for each faction to use it? If that’s the case then the app should be free. Or it should be as it was advertised, paid access to all data sheets and rules in one place, I would even pay a bit more if this was the case, however 60 for the year with no acess to anything but list building capabilities is not worth at all, ( there are free apps for this function alone), the whole point was to have access to ALL DATA, if you raise the price to 100 for the year and include all the data and rules for the game it would be worth. But currently this app is false advertising and sub par to what it could be, not what is was sold as when originally was released, listen to your fan base ( who keeps you in business and loves the lore and game) not your investors (those that do not love the 40K universe and will dilute the brand for short term profit)
Missing basic feature. Some improvements. Conflicting ruleset with physical book.

This app is overall an improvement functionality-wise from the last version. But on launch has broken rules that don’t work correctly for army building after more than a week later and some updates. Some rules from the core book completely conflict. One big feature that I’m shocked still didn’t make it into the new version of the app is you still CANNOT see how many of each type wargear a unit has within the Command Bunker. When creating a game, the Layout doesn’t have measurements on it, so you have to accept the layout, continue clicking through some screens so you can get the option to go back to the reference feature to go look up the layout for the measurements. So many unnecessary extra steps slowing down an already lengthy game setup process. The new War Journal allowing you to track the scoring, command points and letting you see your opponents list is a nice feature at least.
Exodites are now available in the Warhammer 40,000 App!
