Faster money transfer but minimal delay in the verification process

The Aspora app captured my love from the initial transfer. My experience of sending money to India was very easy. At first, the verification process took a little longer, about three days, but their customer care team provided extra attention and fixed it immediately. The money transfer only took a few minutes. Keep providing your excellent service even better.

Weirdest process I have encountered while remitting large amount. I initiated a transfer from my US account to India account and everything seemed to go fine. Money got deducted from my US account but when it didn’t get to my India account, I went on the app to check. It was showing an issue with the transfer with a pending action on me. Note that they didn’t send me any kind of notification for it. The action required was for me to share a proof of fund in the source account by sharing a bank statement. This seems bizarre that they are asking for proof of fund after deducting the money from my account. Now, I had transferred money in my US checking account from my Fidelity account brokerage account just to remit to India. So if I share the bank statement from previous month it won’t show the proof of funds. If I share the current balance it won’t show the fund. Apparently I am at a dead end while my money sits in Aspora’s account. I tried reaching out to customer support. They gave me an ETA of 4-6 minutes but even after 21 minutes I am still waiting!!

I usually send money to India through Remitly, but this time I decided to try a different app because it was showing the Google exchange rate and said the transfer would take just 5–10 minutes. However, it has now been 3 days and my money is still stuck, and they’re saying I may have to wait another 1–2 days.The biggest problem is that the app doesn’t clearly show the real processing time upfront. After talking to a few friends, they all told me they faced the same delays with Aspora.So based on my experience, I would not recommend this app for urgent transfers. It’s only okay if you can wait at least a week, but definitely not for emergency use.

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Aspora and I strongly advise others to think twice before using this app.First and foremost, there is no option to cancel a transaction once it has been initiated - for any reason whatsoever. Whether you entered the wrong recipient details, the wrong amount, or simply change your mind, there is absolutely no way to cancel it. This is a very basic feature that almost every other remittance provider offers at your fingertips, yet Aspora fails to provide it. I reached out to their Support team within 12 hours of initiating my transaction. At that time, my funds had not yet been debited. I waited for more than 1 1/2 hours on their chat support just to request cancellation. The response? They claimed they had escalated the issue to their technical team, but nothing was resolved. To make matters worse: 1. there is no effective cancellation support .2. callback requests are ignored. I never received a call back even after 24+ hours.3. chat support is slow and completely unhelpful. 4. funds were eventually debited, but the INR has still not been credited.Even though I contacted them before the debit happened, they were unable to assist. Their support is practically useless when something actually goes wrong.I chose Aspora just to save 40 paise compared to other providers, and I deeply regret that decision. When everything goes smoothly, any provider seems fine. But a company’s true reliability shows when there is a problem and this is where aspora completely failed.I’ve learned my lesson: it’s better to go with a trusted and well-established provider like Remitly rather than trying to save a few cents and ending up with such a stressful experience. I have never written a review for any app before. This is my first time doing so - only because I don’t want someone else to go through the same stressful and frustrating experience that I did.Extremely disappointing service overall.
