Also new: an experiment with spatial memory flashcards. Walk into a 3D library and put your words at spots around the room. Improvements to favorites, Book Chats, Feedback replies, and how the app reads at larger text sizes.

Favorite words. Tap the heart on any word to keep it close, then filter your Profile down to just your favorites. Your review, on its own card. Finish a book and write a review, and Book Wrapped gives it a card with your stars and your words, made to share. Plus a new opening card in Book Wrapped and a handful of fixes.

Several of you told us the flashcards deserved a bigger spot in the app. Agreed. Say hello to Learn, a new tab for studying the words you've saved. Everything from the old Study section moved in, and it's easier to use, especially with larger text. This is only the first step for Learn. There's a lot more to come.

“Find another meaning” helps you explore the definition you’re looking for. Keep that feedback coming! We also smoothed out a pesky scrolling hitch on Word Detail. Small fix, smoother reading.

A much needed word lookup fix! Thanks for your patience, and for every note you sent in. Many lookups were failing for over the past day. This release fixes that and rebuilds how the app handles lookups so it holds up as we grow. Happy reading!

A few readers wrote in asking to customize Wordshelf's appearance. That sounded right to us, so this version adds Color Themes. Find them in Settings → Appearance and pick your favorite. Thanks for the ideas, keep them coming through the Feedback tab!

Recent Lookups is here! A reader asked to see their latest words on the search page, and we thought that was a lovely idea. Now your words drift by in a little ticker. Got an idea of your own? The Feedback tab is all yours.

This one came straight from a reader suggestion: memory images now match the exact definition you picked, not just the word. Every meaning gets its own tip and its own picture. Have an idea? Tell us in the Feedback tab. We build this with you.

One of the biggest requests we get is looking up words without tracking a book. So we made it a real way to use Wordshelf instead of an afterthought. Turn off Save to book and your profile, stats, and study deck all adapt.

Thanks for all the notes on the word scanner! Terms that run more than one word now look up together (tap a word, then the one beside it), the zoom is gentler, and the buttons have moved down where your thumb can actually reach them.

Flash Cards and Pronunciations both got an upgrades, straight from your feedback!

Larger text sizes finally work the way they should. Every screen scales, nothing gets cut off, and layouts rearrange so words and definitions get the full width of your screen. Book search is better too. Author is its own field now, which turns up the right book far more often than cramming title and author into one box. And when Google Books is down, we say so instead of claiming your book does not exist. Book search is what we are working hardest on. If a book you own will not come up, tell me in the Feedback tab. I read every one.

Bug fixes and improvements

• Every word card now shows how often the word appeared in books going back to 1800, so you can tell at a glance whether a word is timeless, quietly fading, or had its moment century ago. The phrases it turns up in most sit right underneath. • Found a book you're not ready to start? Save it to your library as Want to Read. It waits on your shelf without touching the book you're already in, and once your library grows there's a filter so the list stays easy to find.

• Create a book chat and get the invite code right away, with one tap to send it to a friend

• A few of our readers wrote in asking for this one, so here it is: you can now tap any synonym or antonym to look it up instantly. See a related word you don't know? Tap it to jump straight to its definition, then use the back arrow to return to the word you came from.
