New: your tourist passport. Record every summit, lake and waterfall you reach, with dates and photographs, and publish it for other walkers to read.
Plan a hike in the Ukrainian Carpathians, walk it with the phone in your pocket, and keep a record of every summit you reach — with or without a mobile signal.
Trekking Carpathians is made by people who walk these mountains themselves. It has been growing since 2019 together with the community at vpohid.com.ua, who add the places, the photographs and the corrections.
IT WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL
There is no dependable mobile coverage on a Carpathian ridge, and the app is built for that. Download the map for the area before you leave and the tiles, the routes, the descriptions and the photographs are all on the phone. The navigator needs no connection at all.
HUNDREDS OF READY ROUTES
Day walks above Yaremche, the climb to Hoverla, the full Chornohora traverse, Svydovets, Gorgany, Marmarosy, Borzhava. Each route carries its track, its length, its walking time, a difficulty level, the places it crosses and photographs taken along it. Filter by region, by category or by what is nearest to you.
A MAP THAT KNOWS THE MOUNTAINS
A topographic map with the trails, marked with what actually matters to a walker: summits, waterfalls, lakes, springs, shelters, chapels, ruins, viewpoints, sheepfolds. Thousands of them, added by walkers over years. Tap one to read what is there and see what other people photographed.
FOLLOW A ROUTE AS YOU WALK IT
Start a route and the app shows how much is behind you, how much is left, the forecast on the ridge and a warning when you drift off the line. Finish it and it goes into your history.
YOUR TOURIST PASSPORT
A hiking history that belongs to you: every route walked and every place reached, with the date, your own notes and the summits you ticked off along the way. Keep it private or publish it, and read other walkers' passports.
MORE IN YOUR POCKET
• Weather for the mountains, not for the nearest city
• Villages and towns with transport and how to get to the trailhead
• Peak detector — hold the phone up and it names the summits on the horizon
• Quests: collections of control points to collect over a season
• Chat and a forum with other walkers, and a shared photo feed
• A handbook: mountain rescue, the border zone, transfers
• Add a place yourself, where you are standing, with a photograph
FOUR LANGUAGES
Ukrainian, English, German and Polish, switchable inside the app.
The app is free. An optional purchase removes the advertising.

New in 2.8
• What you see from the top: a 360° panorama from every interesting peak, naming the mountains really in sight
• Tap a name for its distance, direction and a small map; "Details" opens the peak's page
• Peak names: all, main or major only, so the view never gets crowded
• Works upright and sideways; sideways shows three times as much
• "Peak in 3D" and "Share" now sit in one row
