Found out about this app because I'm a longtime user of one of the developers other apps (ColorSlurp, which is also quite elegant). I'm not exactly what you'd call a power user whe it comes to taking notes, but I do need to be able to. Breveto strikes a nice balance between simplicity/ease of use and still having all the tools one would need and expect. I've used some apps that look nice and clean, but are also functionally too limited. Breveto has a slick UI, but the tools are still there. My only recommendations would be an integration with the menu bar for quick/always-on access... and for bullet items in lists to remain indented even when an item wraps to a second line (currently, text wrapping to a second line in a bullet list isn't indented — it's flush with the bullet itself). The latter might seem minor/petty, but as a designer, it's the kind of thing that irritates a little. Overall a great app, though — certainly no qualms about getting the Pro subscription.
Could be a contender!

Breveto could be great … IF they would update it where there was an actual import function in the file menu. Also it needs more file export versions (like Docx, etc). The AI portion is limited on how much it will let you use it. Preview of export would be great. Other than that Breveto holds promise. But it hasn’t been updated in over a year, so I hope thet’s not a sign of abandonment!
YOU NEED THIS BREVETO WRITING APP
this is my Spahr Review
Very nice writing app. Most professional app I've ever worked with; that's for sure. And that's just from its free version. Just imagine how much more would advance my writing aspirations if I'd take it to the next level by going Pro. Some of us might need a miracle in order to upgrade to the Pro addition. But trust me when I say, you will be glad you at least tried the Free version. I know for me, while I very much like what I have to work with now; I'd very much like to level up to Pro. By the way, For the not-so-advanced wordsmiths; this Breveto writing app will most definitely level up your intelligence bar since it also sports a built-in Dictionary Highly Specific Strategic Formating for added support, along with a library style Sidebar to keep all your writings organized and at the ready for any revision/edits plus a Share button for posting to your personal media. All this plus Settings to your personal requirements in the Free-mode(?) Just imagine how much more is available in Pro-mode to enhance your writing productivities and widen your world; even ushuring you into a world of professionalism you could only dream of before. To be sure, you will most definitely find yourself pleasantly surprised as you engage with Breveto. I am very glad I discovered this Breveto writing app. The fact that Breveto also levels you up personally, by adding an integrated Dictionary Highly Specific Strategic Formating - is beyond what I can even put to words. That's how impressed I am with Breveto. And that's just in its Free-mode. So I can hardly wait till I'm able to take Breveto Pro. :0).
Potential
BusinessPapers
I'll echo the other reviews here. Breveto has a ton of potential. It rivals Ulysses for a clean, distraction-free, text-forward writing environment, with AI tools baked-in. Just what I was looking for!The only problem is that sync isn't working properly for me, even when selecting iCloud as a location (which the developer says is the most reliable). I have the app installed on two machines, but my files and locations are never in sync. I've tried closing/opening the apps, and re-installing, but changes made on one machine don't show up on the other. This is obviously a deal breaker, as it could lead to data loss. That's why I'm giving it just 3 stars.I'm pulling for this app, tho. It could be so good!
This update focuses on a few small refinements and many bug fixes!
## IMPROVEMENTS
• Words you teach Breveto’s spellchecker now sync across your devices, and you can view and edit your learned words in Breveto’s settings.
• You can now drag list items from their bullet points to reorder them on iOS.
• You can now split a table in half from a row’s options menu.
• Tables wider than the editor now extend to the edge of the screen for easier viewing.
• On Mac, right-clicking on any word now shows an option to open it in Breveto’s dictionary, or unlearn it if learned.
• On iOS, when “Keep device awake when editing files” is on, Breveto can now let your device go to sleep if the battery drops below a certain percentage.
• When Breveto automatically creates a link as you type, press delete immediately afterwards to undo the link creation.
• Renamed “Horizontal Line” to the more common term “Divider”.
## FIXES
• Fixed multiple sidebar bugs on Mac, including the resize cursor not changing and dragging to resize stopping randomly.
• Fixed the Mac context menu not always showing spelling suggestions or other actions when right-clicking in the editor.
• Fixed autocomplete on iOS sometimes placing the cursor in the wrong location for contractions.
• Fixed table menu actions running twice on iPad, and the menu not closing when dragging rows or columns.
• Fixed pasting table cells breaking table headers or rows.
• Fixed the slash command menu not closing after typing a space.
• Fixed fonts sometimes not loading in the editor.
• Fixed images not being added to files from the iOS toolbar.
• Fixed the link copy button not copying links to the clipboard.
• Fixed not being able to add deep links or custom URL scheme links to files.
• Fixed Quick Open on iOS sometimes not opening files.
