I really like Archer. What I like about it is that there are no scammers and “down low” and faceless profiles. Also a lot of people are very respectful on there. But I can say for a while it was almost like a wasteland, barely nobody texted me and or respond to my text for almost a half a year. And that was even after it was activated within my part of California the central Valley. I also think it’s interesting how they allow us to follow each other’s profiles kind of like it’s a social media app with dating. That was kind of like how Taimi of how it started, but they have recently gotten rid of their social media/social groups feature. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s not very accessible for people with disabilities, especially you cannot screenshot any of the chats you have for either future reference and or allowing people that use iOS to read the text. I am severely dyslexic myself and I need help with reading the text and there’s a feature in the iOS especially on the iPhones where if you screenshot the text as an image it identifies the text and then you can highlight it and have it read to you. I just wish they can allow us to highlight and or copy what the people text to you so that people like myself can have it be read to them.

Another App to Keep You On..

While Archer is a great exciting new app and a new refreshing approach to dating and its largely free and offers more than the other apps, it is unfortunately. Its well just exciting. But the excitement will wear off and it will be just another dating app by a company that the business model is to get people to stay. Its like the credit card companies that thrive when people are in debt, we pay interest and we never get out of the debt. Same with these dating apps, they love when you keep matching limitlessly because, well the grass is always greener right? Its just like the big other gay dating apps we already know and expect. We put our photos on it, we scroll through endless numbers of guys, message them no response, or messages from guys that are not a match. Its really just endless. None of these datings apps actually are designed to force people into relationship. Traditional romance prospects in the LGBT community in America's big cities have completely eroded and these apps building the community's superficiality. So while it is an excellent dating app, it unfortunately just facilitates the issues surrounding LGBT men superficially objectifying one another in the community. I know, because I've done it too. Why? Because of the apps and the resulting culture.
All Bots, no bros

Archer seemed really promising at first. I loved the idea of being able to see the location of the people I was chatting with, making sure they were actually in my city, and being able to see their face upfront. All of that felt exciting—especially for a free app—and it gave the impression that Archer was trying to bring more transparency and safety to gay dating. At launch, it honestly felt like it could be something different and refreshing.Unfortunately, that excitement didn’t last long. Every single match I’ve made has either been a bot or someone who clearly wasn’t located anywhere near me, despite what the app claimed. I’ve run into multiple situations where people used fake photos, chatted with me briefly, then blocked me—only to reappear later with the same picture, a new name, a different age, and a different location. This keeps happening, which makes it feel like there’s zero real verification or accountability. That’s incredibly frustrating and, more importantly, concerning from a safety and security standpoint. This app was marketed as something that would revolutionize gay dating and hookups, but over the past few months I honestly haven’t reaped a single benefit from using it. Ironically, I’ve had better luck on Facebook Dating, which says a lot. Maybe Archer will improve in the future if they add real verification and crack down on fake accounts, but as it stands right now, it feels like a waste of time—and quite frankly, a potential breach of user security and safety. One star.
Seriously?
2 years and still crud
I’ve been on Archer for a week. It’s my first time ever using the app. I’ve downloaded it several different times, but never actually opened it until this past week. I created an account, which was super easy to make and it seemed super in-depth, but then I started realizing there’s a lot of glitches. The biggest issue I have is that I can’t see the keyboard when I type, so I have to tap out of the messaging box to proofread, but if I want to change a word or anything, I have to delete my entire message and start all over. I have to rely on voice text to get it done but voice to text, but it isn’t always perfect, so sometimes the message will come across with a totally different meaning than what I intended. Also, the fact that the map took a week to become available. And now the only way to initiate a conversation with somebody is based on the map (it wasn’t that way until this afternoon), so I have to swipe around the screen and search areas versus the Tinder approach (how it was the first 5-6 days) where profiles would show up as you go through them, so now, it’s not as easy to find a good match. It’s highly disappointing. This app has been out for over two years and it’s one of the most glitchy apps besides Grindr. Also advertising that David Archuleta is on Archer, but not ever getting a response back from him is a stupid marketing approach. I’ve also been informed from other Archer users that they have their own glitches that they deal with in the app. If the glitches go away, I will reconsider my rating. Until then, it stays at a one star.
Thousands of guys are joining Archer every day! And guess what? Each one has a face pic so you don't have to date in the dark. This version includes bug fixes and performance improvements.
