TLDR - good purifier, terrible app, save money and buy the one without the app access. This app is awful! We have the small and the large unit. The large unit STILL (6 months) won’t show particle count, though the small one does. I emailed the company to see if it’s broken and they said it’s a known issue for that model and they are working on it… but they still advertise it as a feature and take full price from buyers! I’ve had this issue for 6 months - but reading the reviews, it’s been going on for over a YEAR!! They say they are working diligently to fix it in replies - if it’s been over a year exactly what work are you doing?! All the app really does is allow you to change the speed from your phone. No schedules or anything convenient. And after you make one change to the speed, the screen dims and it spins and freezes up. I have the force quit the app and reopen it to change the speed again or go look at the other purifier. It also makes you log back in every week because the “token” expires. Only backend engineers use the term token - end users don’t. They make you two factor authenticate via email every week. What security risk is there?! Someone may hack my password and change my purifier air speed - how scary? Just let the app stay signed in or use Face ID - it’s not a bank account, but its security is more annoying than any of my bank apps. I recommend saving some money and buying the non smart version. The app isn’t smart, so buying the other model is smarter.

Working with customer service for 30 + minutes now. I have followed all prompts asked of me and the app will not allow me to access my account without the original network. Even after deleting and re installing. The customer service rep is saying the circumstances that I am describing are not possible. I’ve now asked for the issue to be escalated. For such an expensive product, this is wild to be told you are unable to be helped even with an escalation. The app is flawed in that it is looking for the non existent network and there is no way to access resetting the connections. I look forward to this issue being resolved and would appreciate an outreach!

Outside PPM is actually Micrograms per Cubic Ft. They should know what data the API is displaying. Isn’t that the point? The “peak daily pollution” gradient has no values, just gray lines. Paying top $ for AD want to know what levels the lines represent. Daahboard shows that outside ozone(incorrectly as ppm) but there is no display of inside ozone! If you have ion turned on, you want to know the inside ozone! You can use Boost to schedule 1 hour intervals of higher airflow. But you can’t control the duration or power level. All you can do is schedule the days and times. Very disappointing.

I really wanted to love these air purifiers, which is why I invested in multiple AirDoctor units for my entire home. Unfortunately, the app has become more frustrating over time instead of improving.The Wi Fi connection is constantly glitchy, devices randomly disconnect, and getting everything back online is a headache. For a premium product that costs this much, I expected a reliable app and regular improvements. Instead, it feels like the software has gone backwards.After reading the reviews, it’s clear I’m not the only one experiencing these problems. I contacted customer support hoping for a solution, but they weren’t able to resolve the issue.The air purifiers themselves may work well, but the app seriously lets the whole experience down. If I had known the app would be this unreliable, I honestly would have reconsidered buying so many AirDoctor units. I hope the company starts investing in fixing the software because their customers deserve much better.
