Data is fetched directly from the National Weather Service, without any intermediate backends or analytics collection.
Your location is used only to locate nearby AWOS stations, and isn't tracked or recorded.
Last known location is cached across launches, reducing an annoying pause at launch waiting for the GPS to start
If a station's ceilometer isn't reporting coverage, the cloud coverage circle displays an ellipsis instead of an X (which now only means "obscured")
