The lessons are straight forward explaining word meaning and stresses active participation. Then once you’ve learned the basics wading in ankle deep you’re asked to try to use words learned on your own which exposes one to possible self-affirmation or misuse of words learned. Either way through a guess which is affirmed or a guess which is incorrect you’ll have the opportunity to get corrected. If we’re honest with ourselves we learn best by learning from our mistakes, and best of all we’re not doing it in front of a classroom full of students who might laugh at our sloppy pronunciations or mistakes- we’re working with an app free from intimidation. Looking forward to learning more.

Update #4 YAY, access to content has been restored/promotion honored. The content is actually of very high quality. Great, clear voices with dialogue to read along with. There is a pause button and there are opportunities to hear phrases at a slower rate of speech for easier understanding. I would like to see some kind of quiz mode to test knowledge, but I really like the content. It says you can sign up for video content, and I have (through Apple), but I don’t see it yet in my email. I am looking forward to it! Update #3 - the app now works again…BUT the lifetime is full priced and NOT UNLOCKED for me. Please unlock it for me as I attempted to unlock it TWICE during promotional periods but due to errors on your app’s end it would not. I will update my review once this has been fixed. Thanks.I downloaded this on two different occasions during TWO different free lifetime promotional offers, with the same results- NO lifetime offer was achieved. After updating the app this last time to try again (which by the way just adds promotional ads), the app is literally FROZEN and just says loading, but never actually allows you to view or access any actual material other than the page where you add your name and (optional phone number, um yes, at least you get that), or get to any page with pricing so you can select the $0.00 they advertised via AppAdvice. Deleting and reinstalling the app does not help, the process for onboarding is blocked/ the screen just loads perpetually. They do, however, interestingly enough, let you click on to a tab to access the page with their promotional ads for Facebook and for signing up for Zoom for free lessons though. How interesting that the app describes lessons that aren’t in any way, shape, or form viewable or accessible within this app.

I am so disappointed with the Learn Spanish Like A MF app. It began with such promise. Each lesson is clearly presented and builds upon previous lessons. I have absolutely no problem with the material; it’s rather the SCARCITY of material that I find troubling. I downloaded a lifetime subscription to the LSLAMF app through a promotion (normally advertised at $325) with the understanding that additional lessons would be added to the original five on a regular schedule. After two months, only one supplement of five lessons has arrived. With dedicated study, the total of ten lessons can easily be covered in a single week. LSLAMF also originally contained 37 bonus lessons (ten more arrived with the only update). These are useful, but oddly organized into four groups of 1-10, 1-10, 31-35 and 61-70. The last two sets are based on previous material that is frustratingly unavailable to the user. Moreover, some of the bonus lessons (31, 32 and 33a, for example) simply didn’t exist. There was also a dubious sleep learning section which was subsequently deleted without fanfare. This morning ALL of the bonus material inexplicably disappeared from the app. The app does what it promises; it allows the user to learn Spanish quickly—so quickly, in fact, that the learning outpaces the material after only a couple of weeks. It’s like attending a language class in which the instructor only shows up once a month.

Having received the app free on a one day promotion I am inclined to express natural gratitude. In the registration process under this promotion there was a bit of a technical snag. What absolutely impressed me was the quick and responsive help I got- thorough and resolute and courteous. That professionalism as well as the early content explored is enough to tell me they seem to have a good thing going here. Time will tell of course how expedient an individual can progress in Spanish with this app and there are many factors like time, discipline, motivation, and practice commitment that naturally diversify results. So far so good👍🏼
